An Unforgettable Spiti Valley Experience with Traveller Choice (Honest Review)

Before booking, please be aware that there are some fraudulent agencies on Facebook and o (Read More)ther social media platforms misusing the name "Traveller Choice" to scam tourists. Please ensure you are dealing with the authentic agency by verifying their official phone numbers before making any payments.
Overall Experience & Management:
We had a fantastic Spiti Valley tour, and we received excellent cooperation from the Traveller Choice team. A special thanks to Mr. Lalit—he is extremely well-behaved, cooperative, and was always available on the phone whenever we needed him. He handled our entire trip seamlessly.
Accommodation & Food:
The properties arranged for us were generally very good. Here is my quick breakdown:
Narkanda (Oaktree Homestay): This place deserves a special mention! It is located in a beautifully secluded, peaceful area. The rooms were extraordinary and incomparable, and the food was excellent.
Sangla (Nagi Cottage): The rooms are above average (not super luxury, but good), and the food here was genuinely very delicious.
Kalpa (Royal Resort): The rooms were of average quality, but the property offers an absolutely breathtaking view of the Kinnaur Kailash range. The food was good.
Tabo (Green Tara Hotel): Very well-maintained and extremely clean. They don't allow outside shoes inside the hotel and provide slippers instead, which is a great touch. Food was up to the mark.
Kaza (Buddhas Abode): Great rooms and decent food. A special thanks to their team for packing sandwiches for us since we had to leave very early in the morning.
Manali (Majestic Mountain): The property looks nice, but both the rooms and the food were very average. I would recommend the agency look for better alternatives in Manali for future guests.
Transport & Driver Experience:
The car and driver are the most crucial parts of a Spiti trip. For the main leg of our journey, we had Manu. He drove his own car and is a highly skilled, sensible, and excellent driver. He planned our daily sightseeing points so well that we faced no exhaustion. Since it was his own vehicle, he was slightly over-protective of it. The Kaza to Manali route had opened just a day or two before our journey, and we had to convince him a bit to take that route. The road was indeed muddy and extremely slippery—we even saw another car skid in the snow, which was quite scary. However, Manu handled those treacherous conditions with remarkable expertise.
Unfortunately, for our final drop from Manali to Kalka, Manu’s car had an issue, and he sent a replacement driver named Jitendra. Jitendra was a terrible experience. He was extremely rude, refused to drive even 500 meters extra, and tried to harass us with fake conditions (demanding ₹300/hour after 8 PM), which were never part of our agreement. While Mr. Lalit stepped in promptly and handled the situation perfectly, Jitendra's behavior left a slight bitter taste at the very end of an otherwise beautiful trip. I have specially requested Lalit Ji never to assign Jitendra to any future tourists.
(Note: We also missed shopping in Kullu as the market was unfortunately closed on Sunday).
Final Verdict:
Despite the minor hiccup at the end, the trip was wonderful, and the operator's support was genuine. Highly recommended, provided you double-check the authenticity of the agency and ensure you get a good driver throughout!
