## Day 1 Drukgyel Dzong – Sharna Zampa

- Walking distance: 17 km, 4-5 hours walk
- Camp altitude: 2,850m
- Drive up to Drukgyel Dzong (2,580m)
- The trail follows the Paro Chhu passing beautiful meadows and paddy fields
- Reach the army post at Gunitsawa village
- Rest at campsite close to Gunitsawa

## Day 2 Sharna Zampa- Soe Thangthangkha

- Walking distance: 22km, 5 -6 hours walk
- Camp altitude: 3,610m
- Go uphill through the river valley
- Visit the Jigme Dorji National Park
- Descend to campsite with great views of
Mount Jomolhari

## Day 3 Thangthangkha – Jangothang

- Walking distance: 19km, 5-6 hours walk
- Camp altitude: 4,080m
- Trek continues to the Paro Chhu River
- Cross an army outpost, enjoy spectacular views of high mountain ridges and snow-capped peaks
- Pass by the beautiful villages Soe, Takethang and Dangochang
- Reach Jangothang, one of the most beautiful campsites of the Himalayas

## Day 4 at Acclimatization at Jangothang Campsite

- Walking distance: 0.00
- Camp altitude: 4,080m
- Possibilities for day hikes with views of
lakes and snow capped mountains: Jomolhari and Jichu Drake
- Trek up to Tosoh or hike around the area
- Walk towards the glaciers of Jhomolhari or visit a high altitude village life nearby.
- Rest and prepare yourself for a tough climb the next day

- From there, you can either trek for another 5 days and end the trek at Dodena or make a U-turn and trek back 4 days to the starting point in Paro

## Itinerary below for the trek to Dodena:

## Day 5 Jangothang – Lingshi

- Walking distance: 18 km, 6-7 hours walk
- Camp altitude: 4,010m
- Ascend to Nyilila pass at 4,870m
- Spectacular views of Mt. Jomolhari, Jichu Drake and Tsherimgang
- Pass through yak herder’s tents with a view from the top Lingzhi Dzong
- Campsite close to Lingzhi Dzong.

## Day 6 Lingshi – Shodu

- Walking distance: 22km, 8-9 hours walk
- Camp altitude: 4,080m
- Climb up tp Yelila Pass(4,930m)
- Great views of Jomolhari, Tserimgang and Masanggang
- Trek from the pass to the campsite at
Shodu (steep downhill)

## Day 7 Shodu – Barshong

- Walking distance: 16km, 5 - 6 hours walk
- Camp altitude: 3,710m
- Follow the Thimphu Chhu river through rhododendron forests and waterfalls
- Gradual ascent to the ruins of Barshong Dzong.

## Day 8 Barshong – Dolam Kencho

- Walking distance: 15km, 5 - 6 hours walk
- Camp altitude: 3,320m
- Descend to the Thimphu Chhu river valley
- Camp in a beautiful lush meadow

## Day 9 Dolam Kencho – Dodena

- The trail continues through forested areas
- Exit the Jigme Dorji National Park in Dodena
- Transfer back to hotel



# Additional Information:

- A good level of fitness is necessary
- Not suitable for children aged under 13 and dependent on fitness levels
- Not suitable for those with a respiratory, cardiac, or circulatory disorder or a disability that limits mobility
- You will be required to send a scanned copy of your passport (with 6 months validity) in order to apply for the visa - the rest of the application procedure is taken care of for you
- Tour begins at Paro International Airport and ends at Gauwahati Airport in India or Jaigoan of India (border town to Bhutan) if by road, or Paro International Airport
- Fees are calculated based on number of nights. For example, for a 5 day 4 night tour, you will be paying based on 4 overnight stays in Bhutan and not for the number of day
