Day 1 Guwahati to Shillong | Visit Umiam Lake (114.9 km, 3 hours)
Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. You will be greeted by your travel guide and transferred to Shillong. En route, visit the beautiful Umiam Lake (Borapani), Meghalaya’s largest man-made reservoir. Upon arrival in Shillong, check into your hotel and spend the evening exploring the bustling Police Bazaar. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Start your day with a hearty breakfast before departing for Laitlum Canyon, famous for its scenic hill slopes, often called the theater of Meghalaya. Continue your journey to Dawki, known for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River. Here, you can engage in activities such as boating, kayaking, or zip lining (on your own). Later, visit Mawlynnong, Asia’s cleanest village, and explore the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Overnight in Mawlynlong

Wake up to see the beauty of East Khasi hills. Travel back to Cherrapunji after witnessing this attractive place. On the way, visit the Garden of Caves, Arwa Caves, 7 Sister Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Dainthlen Falls, Wei-Sawdong Falls, Mawsawa Falls, Lyngksiar Falls, Mawsawdong Falls, WahKaba Falls. Overnight stay in Cherappunji.

Check out of the hotel and prepare to transfer back to Guwahati as early as possible. Visit the Famous Kamakhya Temple. Alternatively, you can visit the Shillong Peak & Elephant Falls on the way to Guwahati. Proceed to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station. You will then take on your return journey and bring this experience to an end.

The trip was well planned by Sizra, she understood our requirements and curated (Read More)finest itinerary. She stays were thoughtfully picked. The weather complimented all the planned activities throughout the journey.
Few places were closed (like Shillong peak, Guwahati Museum, etc) and that could (Read More) have been informed prior to our journey start, since we understood the closure after reaching the points.
