Please arrive at the Katunayake Bandaranaike airport and be welcomed by one of our representatives. Head to Pinnawala to capture the sights of giant elephants playing and bathing in the river at the elephant orphanage in Pinnawala. Feed one with fruits if you make friends with them. Return to Colombo. Overnight stay in Colombo.
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Take a city tour to discover the main attractions of the bustling city of Colombo. Shop in the large shopping malls for souvenirs and gems. Say goodbye to Sri Lanka and transfer to Katunayake Bandaranaike Airport to catch your flight home.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is home to up to 100 elephants of varying ages. While generally well-cared for, there are some concerns:
- Public Contact: Elephants frequently interact with the public, which has raised concerns among conservation experts.
- Breeding: Although labeled as an orphanage, the facility engages in breeding, with over 70 baby elephants born in captivity—none have been released back into the wild. This makes the orphanage appear more like a zoo than a conservation organization to many visitors.
- Income Generation: The orphanage is a significant revenue source, generating Rs. 100 million annually.
- Tethering: Elephants are often tethered when not interacting with visitors. Mahouts (handlers) ensure the elephants are fed on schedule and maintain safety for the animals and guests.
- Elephant Bathing: The elephants are led to a nearby river for bathing twice daily:
