Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Paro and Evening in the Valley
  • This bhutan gangtey valley tour package begins at Paro International Airport, where the our guide meets the group on arrival. Paro sits at around 2,200 metres in a valley ringed by pine forest, and the short drive into town passes traditional farmhouses with carved windows. The afternoon is kept light after the flight, with an optional walk through Paro town and a visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest temples. Dinner at the hotel introduces the first MAP meal of this bhutan gangtey valley tour package. There is no rush on Day 1. Overnight in Paro.
  • This Bhutan gangtey valley tour package is built around the hike to Taktsang, the cliffside monastery known as Tiger's Nest. The trail climbs roughly 900 metres from the parking area, and most groups take 3 to 4 hours up with a stop at the cafeteria viewpoint roughly halfway. The monastery itself was built into the rock face in the seventeenth century around a cave where Guru Rinpoche is said to have meditated. The descent is gentler, and the afternoon is left free for rest at the hotel before the longer drives ahead. Overnight in Paro.
  • This bhutan gangtey valley tour package moves to Thimphu on Day 3, a drive of around 1 hour through the Paro valley and along the river. Thimphu is Bhutan's capital and the only capital city in the world without traffic lights, a fact that surprises most first-time visitors. The afternoon covers the Buddha Dordenma, a giant bronze statue overlooking the valley from a hillside, and Tashichho Dzong, the fortress that houses the throne room and government offices. This bhutan gangtey valley tour package keeps Day 3 as a lighter day before the longer drives to come. Overnight in Thimphu.
  • This Bhutan gangtey valley tour package crosses Dochula Pass on the way to Punakha, a drive of around 3 hours total. The pass sits at roughly 3,100 metres and holds 108 memorial chortens built in a single row, with views of the eastern Himalayan range on a clear morning. The road then drops into the warmer Punakha valley, where rice terraces replace the pine forest of higher elevations. The afternoon covers Punakha Dzong, built at the confluence of two rivers and considered the most striking fortress in the country. Overnight in Punakha.
  • This Bhutan gangtey valley tour package continues from Punakha to Gangtey, a drive of around 2.5 hours through changing terrain as the road climbs into the Phobjikha Valley. Unlike every other stop on this circuit, Phobjikha is a glacial valley with no river running through it, a flat wetland bowl rather than a river gorge. Gangtey Monastery sits on a ridge above the valley floor, visible from much of the walk in. The afternoon is left open for a first look at the valley before the following day's longer walk. Overnight in Gangtey.
  • This Bhutan gangtey valley tour package keeps the morning in Phobjikha, walking the Gangtey Nature Trail across the valley floor, a flat path of around 1.5 to 3 kilometres depending on the route chosen, passing prayer flags and farmhouses along the way. Gangtey Monastery is visited before the walk begins, looking down over the wetland from the ridge. The afternoon drive back toward Paro retraces the route through Punakha and Dochula Pass, a longer drive of around 5 hours covering most of the day. Overnight in Paro.

The final day of this bhutan gangtey valley tour package is built around the departure flight from Paro. Breakfast at the hotel is followed by a short transfer to Paro International Airport, timed against the confirmed flight schedule. Travellers with a later departure sometimes use the morning for one last walk through Paro town before heading to the airport. Our vehicle drops the group at the airport, where the trip that began seven days earlier comes to a close. The trip ends at the same airport it started from.

Hi, Myself with my 11 team members had an awesome time in Bhutan with a 6 nights and 7 days package with Asia Valleys Tours and Travels. We are thankful to Mr (Read More). Bharat for suggesting and proper guiding for our tour in limited days and it is as per our expectations. The entire trip right from the Bagdogra airport to Bhutan and return to India was completely comfortable , enjoyable and safe. Mr. Bharat was absolutely kind and regular approachable. He made all the arrangements as we have decided before start of the tour. He came personally to welcome our team at Thimpu, was a warm gesture of his hospitality. He was always so kind, polite, and in full control of the tour. He gave us a wonderful guide Miss. Meena and an excellent driver Wanchuk. They are so friendly and helpful, well mannered, well disciplined through out the tour. They become the family members of our team. Meena has taken care of our team at every moments specially when we are going to and coming back from Tiger Nest, she was with the slowest walking member of our team, who is coming down. Meena explained the wonders of all the sites we visited in most interesting way. She is extremely knowledgeable about everything of Bhutan. She is a great guide. Wanchuk, is a very cautious and gentle driver and he drove us safely everywhere we went. His driving is so smooth and enjoyable. During his driving he also explain the importance of some sites . He was very punctual regarding timing. Bhutan is indeed a wonderful piece of heaven on earth. The nature, the scenic beauty, the valleys, the hills, the mountains, the spiral roads, the fresh air, the dreamy cool climate makes it a piece of heaven on earth. We all the team members want to visit Bhutan again with Asia Valleys Tours and Travels. Thank you once again for their great Hospitality to Mr Bharat, Miss Meena and driver Wangchuk in Bhutan.
