Your Meghalaya adventure begins the moment you land at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station. Your private Innova cab and driver will be waiting to whisk you away on a scenic 3.5-hour drive through rolling hill roads and verdant green landscapes into the heart of Meghalaya. En route, stop at Umiam Lake, a large, serene reservoir cradled by pine-covered hills, ideal for photography and a refreshing mid-drive breather. After hotel check-in, head to the buzzing Police Bazaar, Shillong's most popular market for souvenir shopping, street food, and charming hilltop cafés.
Spend a full day exploring Shillong, the 'Scotland of the East,' from its tranquil lakes and thundering waterfalls to cultural landmarks and panoramic hilltop views. Visit Ward's Lake, Shillong Peak, Elephant Falls, Don Bosco Museum, and Bishop Fall.
After checkout, make your way to Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth. The drive itself is a visual feast. Visit Mawkdok Dympep, Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Mawsmai Cave, and Arwah Cave.
Today is one of the most memorable days of the entire journey. After an early breakfast, you'll embark on the famous trek to Nongriat Village to witness the world-renowned Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Expect around 3,500 steps down and back up, challenging but immensely rewarding.
A scenic day journey taking you from the lush cliffs of Cherrapunji to the Bangladesh border, passing through Asia's cleanest village and ending at the hauntingly beautiful Umngot River. Visit Mawlynnong and Dawki, known for its crystal-clear waters.
Travel from the border town of Dawki back to Shillong through the scenic Jaintia Hills, with stops at Krang Suri Waterfalls and Laitlum Canyons.
After checkout from Shillong, your final drive heads back to Guwahati. Visit Maa Kamakhya Temple, a sacred site, before your transfer to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station.
