Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Pick Up from Hotel in Nairobi and Transfer to Lake Naivasha

You will depart Nairobi in the early morning and drive to Hell's Gate National Park with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint to take some breathtaking photographs. After the stop, you will continue on to Hell's Gate National Park. You will have the option of a game drive, walk or ride bicycles in the park to view the wildlife. Enjoy the spectacular views of the gorges. The park provides a variety of wildlife, unusual flora and many species of birds.

It is the only Kenyan park where climbing, walking and biking are allowed. Animals seen here include giraffes, gazelles, gnus, impalas, buffalos, hyrax, zebras, hyenas, jackals, baboons, and more. After the day’s activities, you will proceed to Crater Lake Camp for dinner and overnight. After check-in, you will enjoy lunch and then spend the afternoon at own leisure. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner and then settle in for the overnight stay.

After an early morning breakfast, you will check-out and take nature walk in Crater Lake Camp where you get to interact with wildlife at a close range. Later, you will proceed to Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus and filled with large numbers of hippo lazing in the water and herbivores grazing along the shores. You will enjoy bird watching, seeing Grey-capped Warbler, Spectacled Weaver, Brimstone Canary, Red-billed Fire finch, Pelicans, Cormorants and more.

You also have a chance to opt to go on a boat ride on the lake and if interested have an optional nature walk on Crescent Island. In the afternoon, you will depart Lake Naivasha and stop at “The Forest” for lunch and some optional activities (zip-lining, archery, fly-fishing, horseback riding etc). In the evening, you will return to Nairobi and be dropped-off at the airport or your choice of hotel. This is where your safari will end with a Jadi experience.

We started our trip from New Delhi to Nairobi via Mumbai by Indigo flight. Denni (Read More)s was there to welcome us at the airport early in the morning. We started off to Samburu, had lunch on the way had a relaxing evening at the resort. We had a wonderful game drive next day at the samburu national reserve, saw a leopard, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, etc from close quarters. We went to ol Pajeto conservancy, fed blind rhino, saw chimpanzees and other animals including two horned rhinos, proceeded to Nakuru saw pelicans, flamingos etc there, Masai Mara we stayed for three nights and had two game drives. Could see lots of lions, cheetah with its prey as well as a pregnant cheetah, zebras, giraffes etc. we also saw ostriches and other animals and birds there. We then went to Naivasha had a boat ride with walk and see crocodiles and hippos and crescent island visit walked with zebras, impalas and wildebeest but couldn’t see giraffe there. Due to floods last year many parts of crescent island got submerged so could only see part of the island. Our last destination was Amboseli park with game drive there. Overall it was a highly satisfying and interesting experience. İmara Destinations did a very good job of taking us to the exact spots where animals would be seen uninterrupted. Just went for 8 day safari with James and Wild Portraits Safaris...it was spot o (Read More)n perfect. Reasons 1.Clear communication and replies always comes very quickly on WhatsApp. 2. Very genuine with suggestions and doesn't do things as a job or formality. 3. James is very knowledgeable. 4. The enthusiasm and passion shown by James was just so infectious. 5. The planning of itinerary takes care of all the finer details. 6. They really take care of your focus and they don't try to sell anything you are not interested in. For example we skipped the village visit because we didn't see value in it. 7. Quite flexible and adjusts as things progress.
