Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Leh Airport, where you will be received by our representative and transferred to the hotel. The first half of the day is reserved for complete rest to acclimatize. Post-lunch, if suitable, visit Leh Palace, built by King Singgee Namgyal in the early 17th century. This nine-storied palace, now under the care of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), offers a glimpse into Ladakh’s royal history. Continue to Namgyal Tsemo, established by King Tashi Namgyal after a victorious battle against Central Asian invaders. End the day with a visit to Shanti Stupa, a Japanese peace pagoda inaugurated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1985. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Leh.
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day tour of Sham Valley. Begin with a visit to the Hall of Fame (war museum), followed by Spituk Monastery, founded in the 11th century by Od-Lde and named by Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo. Then visit the Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill—a gravity-defying phenomenon—and Sangam, the confluence point of the Indus and Zanskar rivers. Return to Leh for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After an early breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (18,380 ft), the world’s highest motorable road and gateway to the Siachen Glacier. The panoramic views from the top are breathtaking. Visit Deskit Monastery, founded by Lama Sherab Zangpo in 1420 A.D. Post-lunch, head to Hundar village and enjoy a unique camel safari on double-humped Bactrian camels amidst sand dunes between Hundar and Deskit. Dinner and overnight stay at a camp in Nubra.
Post breakfast, drive to the stunning Pangong Lake via the scenic Shayok route. Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of Ladakh throughout the journey. Upon arrival, check into the camp near the lake. Spend the evening soaking in the surreal beauty of Pangong Lake. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
After breakfast, return to Leh via Chang La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world. En route, visit Thiksey Monastery, an impressive twelve-story complex that houses many items of Buddhist art. Also visit the famous Rancho School, known from the film 3 Idiots. Arrive in Leh by evening. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will be dropped at Leh Airport for your onward journey.
