- Sightseeing to Aru Valley, Betaab Valley, and Chandanwari in Pahalgam is only allowed by the local taxi union. Outside vehicles are not permitted, and rates are negotiable.
- Recommended shopping items include dry fruits, rajma, basmati rice, handicrafts, woolens, carpets, and saffron. Best shopping areas in Srinagar are Lal Chowk and Boulevard Road.
- For authentic Kashmiri Wazwan cuisine, Aadhoos at Lal Chowk is the best place, and Gee Enn Bakers on Residency Road serves excellent mutton kebabs.
- For vegetarian food, Krishna Dhaba in Srinagar is highly recommended.
