Day 1 Arrive Guwahati – Shillong
Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport or railway station, embark on a picturesque drive to Shillong. En route, stop at Umiam Lake – a scenic reservoir nestled amidst pine-clad hills, perfect for photo stops. Shillong, often called the "Scotland of the East," is located at an altitude of 1496 meters and is surrounded by rolling hills, waterfalls, and colonial architecture. The city’s cool climate and natural charm make it one of Northeast India’s most sought-after destinations.
Overnight stay in Shillong.
After breakfast, head to Cherrapunjee (also known as Sohra), one of the wettest places on Earth. Tucked in the East Khasi Hills, this misty town is known for its year-round rainfall, orange groves, and spectacular landscapes. Explore the region’s top attractions including Arwah Cave, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls, Eco Park, Garden of Caves, and Thangkharang Park. On the way back to Shillong, visit the iconic Elephant Falls – a cascading mountain stream surrounded by lush greenery.

After breakfast, check out and begin your journey toward Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Assam. Known for its vast population of the Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros, Kaziranga’s landscape comprises tall elephant grass, swampy lagoons, and dense forests. The park is also home to wild water buffalo, swamp deer, elephants, and a significant number of tigers, making it one of India’s most biodiverse reserves.

Begin your day with an early morning elephant safari, offering a close view of Kaziranga’s rich wildlife and vast grasslands (subject to availability). Return to the hotel for breakfast. Later, visit the Kaziranga Orchid & Biodiversity Park – a beautiful center dedicated to local flora and traditional cultural performances. In the afternoon, set out on a jeep safari in the Central Range of the national park, giving you more chances to spot wild rhinos, deer, and birds in their natural habitat.
