Start your day with a visit to Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, perched on a hilltop with sweeping views of Kathmandu Valley. Next, depending on your preference or logistics, visit either Kathmandu Durbar Square — a historic royal complex with ancient palaces and temples — or Patan Durbar Square, famed for its exquisite Newari architecture, the stone-carved Krishna Mandir, and the fascinating exhibits at Patan Museum.
