Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your designated hotel. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner, featuring authentic Nepalese cuisine, offering an introduction to the country's rich food culture.

The journey begins with an early morning drive to Salleri, which takes approximately 11 hours. The drive follows the newly constructed Everest Highway, which will eventually connect to Chaurikharka.

Continuing on an off-road journey to Nunthala, we may need to walk short distances in some sections where the road conditions are tricky. Upon reaching Nunthala, the trek begins towards Paiyan, descending to the Dudh Koshi River. The trail offers stunning views of Numbur and Pikey peaks.

After an early breakfast, we trek down to Surkhe village, located just an hour from Lukla. The trail winds its way to Choplung, where it merges with the main Everest Base Camp trail. After a few hours of easy trekking, we arrive at Phakding, where we spend the night.

The trek continues through a pine forest and Benkar Valley, crossing the Dudh Koshi River multiple times. Passing through Chumoa and Monjo, we reach the entrance of Everest National Park. The trail then ascends steeply toward Namche Bazaar, the largest town in the Everest region.

To adjust to the high altitude, we spend an extra day in Namche Bazaar. The town offers various amenities, including ATMs, internet cafes, restaurants, and shops. A short hike to Sagarmatha National Park provides breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kongde. We also visit the Hillary School and a monastery housing a Yeti scalp. If time permits, we can hike to Khumjung village.

After breakfast, the trail descends to the Dudh Koshi River before ascending through rhododendron forests to Tengboche. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. Upon arrival, we visit the Tengboche Monastery, the largest monastery in the Everest region.

We descend through birch, conifer, and rhododendron forests, accompanied by views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. The trail crosses the Imja River and leads to Pangboche, where we visit the Pangboche Monastery. Continuing through Imja Valley and Lobuche River, we ascend to Dingboche for the night.

A day is set aside for acclimatization. We hike up to Nangkartshang Peak, which offers panoramic views of Ama Dablam. If the weather is clear, we can see Ama Dablam from base to summit. Alternatively, we can explore surrounding villages.

Following the trail along the Khumbu Glacier, we pass memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest expeditions. Continuing the ascent, we reach Lobuche, located at the foot of Lobuche Peak, where we spend the night.

A challenging yet rewarding day as we trek along the Khumbu Glacier to Everest Base Camp (5,365m). This is the closest we can get to Mount Everest without an expedition. During spring, colorful expedition tents create a striking contrast against the rocky terrain. After enjoying the views, we return to Gorak Shep for the night.

An early morning climb to Kala Patthar (5,555m) rewards us with the best panoramic views of Everest. The ascent is steep, but the view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Chagatse, and Pumori makes it worthwhile. After a short descent to Gorak Shep for breakfast, we continue our trek to Pheriche.

We retrace our steps through Pangboche and Tengboche, descending back to Namche Bazaar. Though we follow the same trail, the views remain stunning. After arriving in Namche, we rest for the night.

The final day of trekking takes us back to Lukla, where we began our journey. We spend the evening celebrating the completion of the trek, reflecting on the incredible experiences of the past two weeks.

Leaving Lukla behind, we descend to Surkhe, then take an uphill trail to Cheubas. After a challenging ascent, the trail leads us downhill to Kharikhola, where we spend the night.

An early morning descent takes us through Tubing and Junbesi before crossing a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. We then hike uphill to reach Nunthala.

After breakfast, we embark on a long drive back to Kathmandu. The road is partially unpaved, making some sections bumpy. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we check into the hotel for a well-deserved rest.

A free day to explore Kathmandu, buy souvenirs, or visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This day also serves as a buffer in case of flight delays from Lukla. In the evening, we enjoy a farewell dinner, reminiscing about the trek and celebrating the achievement.

Your incredible Everest Base Camp journey concludes today. You will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure, carrying unforgettable memories of the Himalayas.

They were unable to provide us with transportation as they already had prior boo (Read More)kings, so we had to arrange transport through other sources. The resort and hotels were good; however, at the time of booking, they had mentioned that the property in Pokhara would have a swimming pool. In reality, there was no swimming pool, and it was not even a resort but actually a hotel. Nevertheless, the overall stay arrangement was satisfactory.
Except for Siddhartha Riverside, the food at all other hotels and resorts in Nep (Read More)al was not good. They did not even have the basic courtesy to provide drinking water in the room. At the time of check-in, two bottles of water were provided, but the next morning when we asked for a refill, they said refills are only done after 12:00 PM. If we needed water before that, we had to purchase it ourselves. We have traveled extensively around the world, but we have never experienced such dry and unaccommodating behavior anywhere. Refilling drinking water is a very basic courtesy that hotels and resorts should provide.
