After breakfast, head out for a day trip to the India–Bangladesh border town of Dawki, where you can admire the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River. Enjoy a country boat ride here (on direct payment basis). Later, visit Mawlynnong – awarded the title of “Asia’s Cleanest Village” in 2003. Nestled in the East Khasi Hills, this eco-tourism gem features spotless lanes, community-driven cleanliness, and charming bamboo huts. You’ll also visit Riwai village to trek to a living root bridge and witness the natural balancing rock – a mysterious boulder balanced on another stone. Return to Shillong by evening.

Enjoy breakfast and head to Cherrapunjee, one of the wettest places on Earth. Known locally as Sohra, this charming town lies in the East Khasi Hills and is famous for its waterfalls, limestone caves, and mist-covered landscapes. Visit Arwah Cave, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sister Falls, Eco Park, Garden of Caves, and Thangkharang Park. On your way back, stop at the cascading Elephant Falls nestled among fern-covered rocks. Return to Shillong for the night.

After breakfast, begin your drive to Kaziranga National Park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Assam. The landscape here is a mix of tall elephant grass, marshlands, and dense tropical forests. Kaziranga is home to the famous one-horned rhinoceros and also supports a thriving population of tigers, elephants, swamp deer, and wild water buffalo.

Start early with an exciting elephant ride inside the national park (subject to availability). Return to your hotel for breakfast. Later, visit the Kaziranga Orchid and Biodiversity Park – a showcase of the region’s rich floral and cultural heritage. After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati – the bustling gateway to Northeast India. In the afternoon, visit the revered Kamakhya Temple, situated atop Nilachal Hill. As per legend, this is where the yoni (womb) of Goddess Sati fell, making it a powerful Shakti Peetha. The temple draws devotees from across the country. Spend the evening exploring or relaxing at your hotel.
