Guptkashi: The name Guptkashi means "Hidden Benares." Mythology describes how when the Pandava brothers were searching for a glimpse of Shiva, Shivji first concealed himself at Guptkashi, but later fled from them further up the valley to Kedarnath, where the Pandavas finally got their wish fulfilled. There are more tangible connections as well—the Kedarnath pandas (priests) live in Guptkashi during the winter months, and after the Kedarnath temple closes for the winter, the image of Kedarnath passes through Guptkashi on its way to Ukhimath (across the valley), where it stays for the winter.

Morning after breakfast, proceed to Kedarnath. Enjoy Kedarnath Pooja Darshan and return to your hotel. Overnight stay at Kedarnath.

By Trek: Morning, our driver will drop you at Sonprayag. You will then take a local jeep to Gourikund, and your trek to Kedarnathji will start. After Darshan, follow the same route back to Sonprayag. There is a parking issue, so the driver may park elsewhere. If the driver’s contact number is not reachable, you will need to arrange another taxi or wait for your driver.

Kedarnath: The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot situated against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name for Lord Shiva. According to legend, the Pandavas, after having won the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of killing their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and, while fleeing, took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. On being followed, he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as Panch Kedar.

Kedarnath Weather: Due to its high altitude, the weather in Kedarnath remains cold for most of the year. Summers are cool and pleasant, while winters are severe. During summer, temperatures hover around 20°C. Light woolens are recommended. Winters see the mercury falling to as low as 0°C, with snowfall. Due to extreme climatic conditions, this time is usually avoided by tourists.

Morning after breakfast, drive to Badrinath. Check into the hotel upon arrival in Badrinath. Pilgrims can have a bath in the Taptkund and Darshan of Badrivishal. Attend the evening Aarti. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Badrinath.
Morning drive to Haridwar. En route, visit the confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda Rivers, known as Devprayag. Overnight stay in Haridwar.
After breakfast, drive back to Delhi with happy memories.

We recently travelled to Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham with Safehands and I would say they are exceptional in their work. Everything was so well planned fro (Read More)m start to finish be it the car we got, the excellent driver we got, the quality of the Hotels they provided, "They got us confirmed helicopter tickets to Kedarnath Dham", VIP Dharshan in Kedarnath Dham.... etc..etc.. The list can go really long... But I want to especially thank Mr Neeraj. What a Gentleman you are!! He planned our whole itinerary, every day on every point he followed up on if everything was going well or not, and trust me that was the best part as that never gave us the feeling that we were just left alone by any travel agency. When we went to Badrinath Dham it was snowing there, and he made sure our wonderful driver "Mr Kulbir" took us to the temple and that was an adorable gesture from both of them. Also, he met us when we reached Delhi with a beautiful and wonderful gift. He managed each and everything very beautifully. Keep doing good work, Neeraj!
