Day 1 Arrival – Phuentsholing – Thimphu

Distance: 150 km | Driving Time: Approx. 5–6 hours

  • Meet and greet by our representative at the Phuentsholing border.

  • Drive to Thimphu through the scenic Himalayan highway.
  • Lunch en route.
  • Check in to the hotel.
  • Evening at leisure to explore Thimphu town, local cafés, and handicraft shops.

Full-Day Tour from Thimphu Duration: Approximately 8–10 Hours

 Perfect for travelers who wish to explore the scenic valley of Punakha while staying overnight in Thimphu.

Morning

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Depart from Thimphu for Punakha.
  • Drive via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100 m), offering panoramic Himalayan views (weather permitting).
  • Stop to visit the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens and enjoy the breathtaking mountain scenery.

Midday

  • Continue to Punakha.
  • Visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, the "Palace of Great Happiness," situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.

Afternoon

  • Visit the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest suspension bridges in Bhutan.
  • Visit Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility), followed by a pleasant walk through rice fields and traditional villages.

Evening

  • Free time to explore the town or relax at the hotel.

  • Hike to the iconic Paro Taktsang (Tiger's Nest Monastery) (approximately 4–5 hours round trip).
