Day Trip to Pashupatinath, Boudhanath Temples, Patan Durbar Square and Buddhanilkanta (7 Hours)

After breakfast, you will leave for sightseeing.  You will be taken to Pashupatinath Temple first. Pashupatinath Temple is one of the oldest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and is listed as a World Heritage Site. The main temple is built in the Nepalese Pagoda style of architecture. It has four main doors, all covered with silver sheets. There is a main idol in the centre of the four gates, and only four priests are allowed to touch the idol. Cremation at Pashupatinath is a spiritual experience where an individual's physical essence is released from its physical form, allowing it to be reborn.

You will then continue to Boudhanath Stupa. Standing more than 120 feet tall, Boudhanath is also amongst the tallest stupas in Asia. Boudhanath is the heart of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. On each side of the rectangular top of this stupa, there is a pair of eyes. These eyes reflect the awareness of Lord Buddha upon all of the people.   Then you will go to Budhanilkantha Temple, the sleeping Vishnu temple. This temple is also called the Jalnarayan temple. It is said that the temple came on its own while a farmer was digging the fields.   A UNESCO World Heritage site, Patan City, known as Lalitpur and ‘The Beautiful City’, was once home to kings who resided in luxurious palaces in Durbar Square. The Ashoka Stupa, with enigmatic painted eyes, is the most inspiring of the four stupas in Patan and the Mahabuddha, the Temple of the Thousand Buddhas, teems with terracotta Buddhist representations. After completing the sightseeing, drive back to the hotel.

Kathmandu Tour Package Reviews

Agent: Travel Together With Tripathi Travels Pvt Ltd

Devendra Kumar • 3 days ago

They were unable to provide us with transportation as they already had prior boo (Read More)kings, so we had to arrange transport through other sources. The resort and hotels were good; however, at the time of booking, they had mentioned that the property in Pokhara would have a swimming pool. In reality, there was no swimming pool, and it was not even a resort but actually a hotel. Nevertheless, the overall stay arrangement was satisfactory.
Except for Siddhartha Riverside, the food at all other hotels and resorts in Nep (Read More)al was not good. They did not even have the basic courtesy to provide drinking water in the room. At the time of check-in, two bottles of water were provided, but the next morning when we asked for a refill, they said refills are only done after 12:00 PM. If we needed water before that, we had to purchase it ourselves. We have traveled extensively around the world, but we have never experienced such dry and unaccommodating behavior anywhere. Refilling drinking water is a very basic courtesy that hotels and resorts should provide.

The itinerary covered beautiful places including Kathmandu temples, Chandragiri Hill, Bhaktapur, Nagarkot (sunrise & sunset), Pokhara, and adventure activities like paragliding and ziplining, along with the Sarangkot sunrise. Every destination was well planned and executed smoothly. Hotels, transportation, and overall arrangements were excellent. A special thanks to Arith, the manager and tour organizer, who was extremely supportive and took care of every detail. Even after the trip ended, he personally followed up to ensure we reached safely, which truly shows their professionalism and care. Our guide Bijay, appointed by Holyland, was outstanding—very friendly, knowledgeable, supportive, and an excellent driver, especially on hill routes.
