Day 1 Arrival at Bagdogra – Drive to Darjeeling
Upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station, meet our representative and drive to Darjeeling. Nestled at an altitude of 2134 meters, Darjeeling—meaning “Place of the Thunderbolt”—offers a stunning view of the Eastern Himalayas, with Mount Kanchenjunga towering above all. Surrounded by tea gardens, waterfalls, and quaint villages, the town has retained its old-world charm and colonial legacy. It’s often referred to as the “Queen of the Hills” for good reason. As Graeme Westlake aptly said, it has “a view scarcely unrivalled on Earth.”
Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Rise early for a memorable visit to Tiger Hill (subject to availability of permits) to witness the spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas, where the first rays of the sun paint Mount Kanchenjunga and even Mount Everest in golden hues. Return to the hotel for breakfast, followed by a city tour of Darjeeling. Visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays), established by Tenzing Norgay; the Zoological Park (also closed on Thursdays); Tenzing Rock and Gombu Rock; view tea estates from outside; and explore the Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda for a serene end to your day.

After breakfast, depart for Gangtok, the vibrant capital of Sikkim situated at an altitude of 1750 meters. Once a quiet Buddhist retreat, Gangtok has grown into a lively urban center while maintaining its peaceful ambiance and spiritual charm. Upon arrival, check in and freshen up before heading out for a half-day sightseeing tour. Visit the colorful Flower Show, the Handicraft Centre, the Institute of Tibetology (home to rare manuscripts), and the peaceful Do Drul Chorten stupa.

Post breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to the stunning Changu (Tsomgo) Lake, located 35 km from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,400 feet. This glacial lake, fed by melting snow, changes colors and holds deep spiritual significance. As per local legends, Buddhist lamas used to study the lake’s waters to predict the future. Continue your trip to New Baba Mandir, a revered shrine built in memory of an Indian army soldier.

After breakfast, drive to Kalimpong, a peaceful hill station perched at 1250 meters. Once a bustling wool trade center with Tibet, Kalimpong is now a laid-back retreat known for its orchids, gladiolus flowers, and British colonial influences. The town has an interesting history—it was once ruled by the Sikkimese and then by Bhutan before becoming part of British India after the Anglo-Bhutan war.
In the afternoon, enjoy a city tour of Kalimpong, visiting Mangal Dham—a beautiful temple complex, Durpin Hill which offers panoramic views of the Teesta River, and several colorful flower nurseries for which the town is famous.
Overnight stay in Kalimpong.
Enjoy your breakfast and check out from the hotel. Drive back to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station for your onward journey with unforgettable memories of the Himalayas.

When I was given a tour enquiry to the DreamFly, I received a call from DreamFly, a woman voice so gently and motherly tone i.e Mamatha Madam. Fascinated by the way of approach of Mamatha Sister (because I am a Senior Citizen) I have confirmed our family tour with DreamFly as the tour cost has been chalked out so cost concept manner. Mamatha Sister is oftenly asked about problems when we were travelling and suggesting and arranging for better way out for our journey. We do not have more words to thank Mamatha madam for her tour co-ordination. We will plan a Rajasthan and Gujarath tour with DreamFly with the help of Mamatha Sister.
