Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival

Arrival and Hotel Transfer: Upon arrival at Srinagar Airport, you will be met by our representative who will assist with your transfer to the hotel.

Sightseeing Tour: Later, embark on a sightseeing tour of Srinagar’s world-famous Mughal Gardens, including Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Tulip Gardens (Asia’s largest tulip garden). Visit the botanical gardens, Chashme Shahi, Pari Mahal, and the renowned Hazratbal Shrine. All these gardens are set along the banks of Dal Lake with the picturesque Zabarwan hills in the backdrop. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day Excursion to Sonamarg: After breakfast, embark on a day trip to Sonamarg (Golden Meadow). This valley is known for its flowers and mountainous surroundings.

Horse Riding and Sledge Riding: Enjoy horse riding up to Thajiwas Glacier and sledge riding on snow (additional charges apply).

Return to Srinagar: Return to Srinagar for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Visit to Gulmarg: In the morning, depart for Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers), located 2730 meters above sea level.

Exploring Gulmarg: Gulmarg boasts excellent ski slopes and an 18-hole golf course. If weather conditions allow, view Nanga Parbat, a towering peak over 26,000 feet.

Cable Car Ride: Enjoy a cable car ride (Gondola at own cost) up to Khilangmarg.

Return to Srinagar: Return to the hotel in Srinagar for an overnight stay.

Journey to Pahalgam: After breakfast, proceed to Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds).

En-route Visits: Visit the saffron fields of Pampore, the Awantipura Ruins (an 1100-year-old temple of Lord Vishnu), and enjoy the scenic countryside.

Arrival and Exploration in Pahalgam: Drive through pine forests to Pahalgam. Enjoy the Lidder Stream and walk along pony trails with magnificent mountain views.

Overnight Stay in Pahalgam: Check into the hotel in Pahalgam for an overnight stay.

Optional Excursions: Explore the natural beauty of Pahalgam. Optional trips to Aru, Betaab, Chandanwari, or Baisaran (additional costs apply) are available to enhance your Pahalgam experience.

Overnight Stay in Pahalgam: Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Pahalgam.

Transfer to Houseboat: In the evening, transfer to a houseboat in Srinagar.

Visit Shankaracharya Temple: Freshen up and visit the historic Shankaracharya Temple on Mount Sulaiman.

Shikara Ride on Dal Lake: Enjoy a relaxing shikara ride on the serene Dal Lake as evening approaches.

Overnight Stay: Overnight stay in the houseboat.

Departure from Srinagar: Make your way to Srinagar Airport for departure. Reflect on your journey through Kashmir, from the stunning meadows of Gulmarg to the majestic valleys of Pahalgam and Sonamarg, experiencing breathtaking landscapes and serene beauty.

Other Details

  • Prepaid SIM cards do not work in J&K due to security reasons; a postpaid connection is required.
  • In Katra, for Pithu, Palki, or Pony services, the Municipal Committee Katra has fixed rates displayed on the rate card outside their booking office at Banganga. If someone is overcharging above the listed rates, you can negotiate hard.
  • In Srinagar, if you are staying at a houseboat, Shikara rides are complimentary, so do not pay for them.
  • It is not mandatory to take ponies in Gulmarg and Pahalgam to visit all important tourist spots, as major attractions are within walking distance. However, if you still wish to take a pony ride, sledging, or rafting, the rates are highly negotiable, so bargain as much as possible.
  • Sightseeing to Aru Valley, Beetab Valley, or Chandanwari at Pahalgam will be by local taxi union only. Due to union rules, outside vehicles cannot enter these areas. Rates are negotiable, and you will need to pay extra directly.
  • For shopping dry fruits, Rajma, Basmati rice, handicrafts, woolens, carpets, saffron, or cricket bats in Srinagar, visit Lal Chowk or Boulevard.
  • For Kashmiri Wazwan food, Aadhoos at Lal Chowk Srinagar is the best place, and Gee Enn Bakers on Residency Road offers excellent mutton kebabs.
  • For vegetarian food in Srinagar, Krishna Dhaba is highly recommended.

Everything was good as per planned. Some of Kashmir hotels are giving couple rooms even we booked Two family rooms.. That was little disappointing.
