  • In Katra, for Pithu, Palki, or Pony services, the Municipal Committee Katra has fixed rates displayed on the rate card outside their booking office at Banganga. If someone is overcharging above the listed rates, you can negotiate firmly.
  • In Srinagar, if you are staying at a houseboat, Shikara rides are complimentary, so do not pay for them.
  • It is not mandatory to take ponies in Gulmarg and Pahalgam to visit all important tourist spots, as major attractions are within walking distance. However, if you still wish to take a pony ride, sledging, or rafting, the rates are highly negotiable, so bargain as much as possible.
  • Sightseeing to Aru Valley, Beetab Valley, or Chandanwari at Pahalgam will be conducted by the local taxi union only. Due to union rules, outside vehicles cannot enter these areas. Rates are negotiable, and you will need to pay extra directly.
  • For shopping for dry fruits, Rajma, Basmati rice, handicrafts, woolens, carpets, saffron, or cricket bats in Srinagar, visit Lal Chowk or Boulevard.
  • For Kashmiri Wazwan food, Aadhoos at Lal Chowk Srinagar is the best place, and Gee Enn Bakers on Residency Road offers excellent mutton kebabs.
  • For vegetarian food in Srinagar, Krishna Dhaba is highly recommended.

From the moment we arrived at Srinagar Airport, everything was very well organised...One of the most memorable experience of our trip was the Dal lake shikara ride,which they arranged for us a Complimentary one.we went during the evening around sunset and the view was absolutely beautiful.Sitting together, enjoying the peaceful Dal lake, watching the sunset,and drinking traditional khawa was a truly Romantic and unforgettable experience for both of us... Wow kashmiri has arranged a wonderful Houseboat stay at Dal lake.Honestly we didn't except such a beautiful accommodation as a part of our package.The house boat was excellent and we would happily give it a five star rating... They arranged a wonderful itinerary that included the Botanical Garden, a beautiful sunset Shikara ride on Dal Lake with Kahwa, a comfortable houseboat stay, a memorable Gulmarg trip with booking Gondola Phase 1 & 2 tickets, a good hotel stay, and delicious food throughout the trip.... They gave us very useful advice about avoiding unnecessary local guides and people who might approach tourists.Because of their proper guidance,we able to enjoy Gulmarg comfortably without any confusion... After completing Gulmarg trip,they picked up on time and dropped us at our hotel...The hotel they arranged was also excellent.. Although it was described as Three star hotel,the overall experience and facilities felt much better than what we expected.They provided Complimentary Buffet Dinner and breakfast including veg and Non veg options....Which was Excellent.... The stays were very pretty, cozy and comfortable, and added so much charm to our trip. Kashmir is truly magical, with breathtaking landscapes and beautiful peaceful surroundings everywhere. The views, especially around Gurez, were absolutely stunning and unforgettable. Overall, everything was well planned and smoothly managed, and we had a really memorable experience. Just a small suggestion, please don’t take it the wrong way — the complimentary Shikara ride could have been a little better.
