Detailed Itinerary
- Today, proceed to Barkot.
- En route, enjoy a view of Kempty Fall, the most fascinating and significant waterfall.
- Upon arrival in Barkot, check in at Hotel Barkot.
- Hotel Barkot is situated in a place of great scenic beauty, offering spectacular views of snow-capped mountains all around and located at the foot of Yamunotri.
- Overnight stay at the hotel.
- Morning drive to Jankichatti (Approx. 2 hours drive)
- From Jankichatti, start the trek to Yamunotri (6 km / Approx. 3 hours one way)
- Yamunotri (Altitude: 10,800 ft):
- Yamunotri is the source of the holy river Yamuna and the seat of Goddess Yamuna.
- The Yamunotri Dham is the first sacred destination of the Chardham Yatra.
- This Dham is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, who is regarded as a daughter of the Sun God (Surya Dev).
- Upon arrival, you can take a holy dip in Taptkund (hot water spring) before entering the temple.
- Visit Yamunotri Temple and Divyashila.
- Later, trek down to Jankichatti and drive to Barkot.
- Overnight at the hotel.
- Today, proceed to Uttarkashi, situated on the banks of the river Bhagirathi, which is famous for its historical monuments, temples, and ashrams.
- Upon arrival, check in at the hotel.
- Later, visit Vishwanath Temple, one of the oldest Shiva temples.
- A massive iron trident, symbolic of the divine mother, has been erected and worshiped from time immemorial at the temple complex.
- Overnight at the hotel.
- After breakfast, proceed to Gangotri.
- En route, take a holy dip in the hot water spring at Gangnani. Most devotees take a holy dip in this natural hot water spring before heading toward Gangotri.
- GANGOTRI: (Altitude - 10,250 FT) is the source of the most holy river, ?The Ganges,? also called Bhagirathi. According to Hindu legends, the river Ganga descended from heaven to earth at Gangotri when Lord Shiva released the mighty river from his locks.
- Continue the drive to Gangotri. Upon arrival, dip in the sacred river Ganges, also known as Bhagirathi, at its origin.
- After the dip, visit the Gangotri Temple, the highest and most important temple of Goddess Ganga.
- Later, drive back to Uttarkashi. En route, enjoy the beauty of Harsil Valley, which is famous for its natural beauty and majestic views of the Deodar trees and mountains.
- Overnight at the hotel.
- Today, proceed to Guptkashi.
- En route, enjoy a view of the beautiful Rudraprayag Sangam(where the River Alaknanda meets the River Mandakini).
- Upon arrival in Guptkashi, check in at the hotel.

- Kedarnath (Altitude: 11,750 FT): One of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, Kedarnath is a scenic spot situated against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range.
- Kedar is another name for Lord Shiva, the protector and destroyer.
- According to legend, the Pandavas, after winning over the Kauravas in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty for having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption.
- He eluded them repeatedly and, while fleeing, took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull.
- When followed, he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface.
- After the Darshan, hike downward to Sonprayag.
- A vehicle will pick you up and drop you at the hotel.
- Today, proceed to Badrinath via Chopta.
- Chopta, a picturesque hamlet still unexplored by travelers, is also famous as the "Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand."
