Day 1 Arrival at Bagdogra / Njp –Transfer To Phuentsholing
  • Arrival at Bagdogra Airport
  • Meet and greet by our local representative
  • Transfer to Phuentsholing (approximately 180 km / 3-4 hours drive)
  • Phuentsholing (298 meters / 977 feet) is a small town at the Indo-Bhutan border
  • Evening at your leisure
  • Overnight stay in Phuentsholing
  • After breakfast, you will be transferred to Thimphu (approximately 145 km / 5 hours drive) via Chukha.
  • Thimphu is situated at an elevation of 2,300 meters.
  • Thimphu lies in a beautiful valley, sprawling up a hillside on the west bank of the Thimphu Chhu River, and has a total area of about 1,809 square kilometers.
  • Evening at your leisure: Visitors can enjoy a relaxing walk in the valley in the evening.
  • Be sure to try momo kopi, steamed dumplings filled with finely chopped cabbage, onions, cheese, and butter.
  • Overnight stay in Thimphu.
  • After breakfast, embark on a day excursion to Punakha/Wangdue (One-way approximately 70 km / 2 hours).
  • En route, visit Simtokha Dzong.
  • Proceed to Wangduephodrang, with a stop for tea at Dochu La Pass (3,100 meters), where, on a clear day, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Himalayas.
  • In Wangdue, have lunch.
  • In the afternoon, drive to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan.
  • Visit Punakha Dzong (optional; entry fees to be paid directly), which is notable for being one of the most beautiful dzongs in Bhutan and for having been built by the first Shabdrung in 1637.
  • Also visit the Punakha Suspension Bridge, the second longest suspension bridge in Bhutan. It spans the Mo Chhu and Po Chhu rivers and is approximately 160-180 meters in length. It is one of the oldest bridges in the world, connecting Punakha Dzong to the rest of the valley.
  • In the evening, return to Thimphu.
  • Overnight stay in Thimphu.
  • After breakfast, embark on a Thimphu City Tour covering:

  • Don'ts in Bhutan
    • Tobacco is absolutely prohibited in Bhutan. Tourists may use it, but extra care should be taken. Selling or giving tobacco to locals is also a crime.
    • Make sure to remove your footwear before entering any religious place.
    • You are advised to dress discreetly and modestly in Bhutan. If you’re visiting any Bhutanese temple (Tshechu), you will be admired if you wear their national dress, gho and kira.
    • Foreign nationals are not permitted to carry Indian rupees across the border to and from India.
    • Buying and selling antiques is strictly forbidden in Bhutan. Do not offer toys or treats to children in exchange for photo opportunities. Locals are careful not to raise a generation of children who beg tourists, although adults may not object out of politeness.
  • Do's in Bhutan
    • Although Bhutan welcomes foreigners, especially for last-minute all-inclusive holidays, the country is extremely conscious of its culture.
    • The greeting in the Bhutanese language, Dzongkha, for hello is "Kuzu Zangpola," and for goodbye or good luck, it is "Tashi Delek."
    • All citizens, except Indians, need a visa to enter Bhutan, which must be applied for in advance.
    • Indian nationals need route permits to travel in Bhutan, provided by the Immigration Department at Paro Airport, Phuentsholing Immigration Office, or online, which must also be applied for in advance.
    • Carry either Nu (Bhutan's currency) or INR (Indian Rupees), as both are accepted in Bhutan.
    • Use your right hand when giving or receiving something. Pass holy sites keeping them on your right side.
    • US dollars are widely accepted in Bhutan, but it is advisable to exchange some currency for Bhutan's currency, ngultrum (Nu), or Indian Rupees for small purchases and in remote areas. There are not many ATM machines available except in major cities like Thimphu, where international ATM/credit cards may or may not work.
  • Documents Required to Enter Bhutan
    • Voter Identity Card / Passport: Validity should be more than six months from the date of travel.
    • For individuals below 18 years, a date of birth certificate is mandatory if they do not hold a passport (in English only).
  • Child Rate Policy
    • Children above 11 years will be charged 100% as per the adult rate.
    • Children aged 5 to 11 years sharing a parent's room will be charged as per CWB or CNB (for 5-star properties, ages 3 to 11 years).
    • Children below 5 years are complimentary (for 5-star properties, children below 3 years are complimentary).
    • Hotels are strict with the child policy. Please carry proof of age to present when requested.
  • The above rates are valid for Indian nationals only.
  • Less than 7 Days Prior to Date of Travel: 100% of the package cost as a cancellation charge.
  • 7 – 15 Days Prior to Date of Travel: 75% of the package cost as a cancellation charge.
  • 16 - 40 Days Prior to Date of Travel: 50% of the package cost as a cancellation charge.
  • More than 40 Days: Full refund of the package cost excluding processing fees of INR 1000 per head.
  • For 4-star premium and 5-star properties, the cancellation policy will apply as per the respective property’s cancellation policy.
