Very disappointing experience with Thrillophilia during my Everest Base Camp trek.
The trip was outsourced to Adventure White Himalaya Treks, but there was almost no accountability from Thrillophilia (Read More)even when serious issues started happening during the trek.
One of the biggest problems was the pressure for helicopter bookings. Trekkers were being pushed to pay an extra $650 for helicopter arrangements and it felt more like a business tactic than an actual emergency requirement. If someone was not ready to pay, there was very little support or proper alternative planning provided.
The overall management was poor. Lukla flights were not properly handled, communication was unclear, and there was no proper guidance during difficult situations. For a trek like Everest Base Camp, people trust companies like Thrillophilia for safe and organized management, but that was missing completely.
The most concerning part was safety. The itinerary mentioned proper high-altitude support and safety arrangements, but guides were not even carrying basic emergency equipment like oxygen cylinders. This is extremely risky on a high altitude trek where conditions can change anytime.
ONLY IF I COULD GIVE A ZERO OR NEGATIVE RATING
While Japan itself is beautiful,dealing with Thrillophilia’s administrative incompetence entirely ruined the experience. Our 10-day itinerary was plague (Read More)d with issues right from the beginning. Ticket booking was chaotic, and theoverall management of the itinerary was incredibly confusing, leading tomultiple last-minute glitches.
To name a few,
a. Tickets to Disney Sea (which Thrillophilia provided as QR Code) was deemed to be inadmissible at the entry there as they said its not valid and I had to make an urgent online ticketreservation for the same on the spot - "This was most frustrating part i.e. arriving at scheduled destination only to find out that promiseditineraries had not actually been booked by the agency. We had no choice but to pay out of our own pockets to salvage our vacation".
b. Osaka aquarium trip wascancelled in the last moment
c. My daughter's name was notincluded in the breakfast at Richmond Hotel stay at Osaka in the latter half ofthe Japan Trip.
All these led to a lack of peace of mind and a stressful trip which, otherwise should have been a memorable one.
It was a complete DISASTER from your end - THRILLOPHILIA
Following the trip, chasing them down for compensation was an uphill battle. They subjected us to an exorbitant, nearly two-month delay just to process the refund for their own mistakes.
The trip concluded on 30th March 2026. The request for refund for Disney Seatickets, Osaka Aquarium Tickets and Breakfast charges at Osaka Hotel was initiated at the conclusion of the trip itself on reaching back India.
It was a mental torture, traumaof highest order and embarrassment waiting for your own money to be refunded - IT TOOK 48 DAYS for the REFUND TO COME BACK TO SOURCE. This included multiple phone calls, emails and WhatsApp messages from my end - MANY OF THEM FALLING ON DEAF EARS.
Despite requesting for callbacks, I would not be receiving any calls from your customer relation officer (MR. DIVYANSH BHATI). I have never seen a more incompetent professional in my life. Every time, he would be having asimilar reply - WE ARE WORKING ON IT. I had requested for escalation of the matter of refund to the higher authority for which I WAS NEVER PUT ON CALL WITH THE SENIORS OFFICIALS (NOT EVEN A SINGLE TIME) DESPITE MULTIPLE REQUESTS. ITS A TOTAL SHAME AND DISGRACE TOCALL YOURSELVES A GROUP OF PROFESSIONALS.
A travel agency is supposed to provide peace of mind, but Thrillophilia only provided stress and financial inconvenience. I STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST USINGTHERIS SERIVCES FOR ANY FORM OF TRAVEL (BE IT LOCAL, NATIONAL ORINTERNATIONAL).
IF YOU WANT A TRAVEL AGENCY THAT WILL ABANDON YOU ABROAD, FORCE YOU TO BEG FOR YOUR OWN MONEY, AND LIQUIDATE YOUR PEACE OF MIND FOR PROFIT, BOOK WITH THRILLOPHILIA.
THRILLOPHILIA DOES NOT PLAN TRIPS; THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY UPFRONT, FORCE YOU TO PAY A SECOND TIME ON THE GROUND OUT OF YOUR OWN POCKET, AND THEN HOLD YOUR REFUND HOSTAGE FOR TWO MONTHS UNTIL YOU BEG THEM TO RETURN IT.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH A SINGLE RUPEE: FROM NIGHTMARISH TICKET BOOKING TO PARTIALLY UNBOOKED HOTELS AND AN EXORBITANT TWO-MONTH REFUND BATTLE, THRILLOPHILIA WILL ACTIVELY RUIN YOUR VACATION AND DRAIN YOUR BANK ACCOUNT.
THRILLOPHILIA'S UTTER INCOMPETENCE AND DISHONESTY WILL CONVERT YOUR DREAM VACATION INTO A STRESSFUL, FINANCIALLY DRAINING NIGHTMARE THAT YOU WILL SPEND MONTHS TRYING TO RECOVER FROM.
