Day 1 Welcome to Nairobi | Wildlife Encounters & City Warmth

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to the city.
Begin your Kenya experience with a visit to Nairobi National Park, a unique wildlife haven set against the city skyline.
Continue to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to learn about elephant rescue and conservation.
Visit the Giraffe Centre for an up-close encounter with the endangered Rothschild giraffes.
After your Nairobi wildlife experience, transfer to your hotel to check in, relax, and settle in before the safari begins.

Day 2 Nairobi to Maasai Mara | Into the Wild

After breakfast, depart Nairobi and journey through the scenic Great Rift Valley towards the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, then head out for your first afternoon game drive across the Mara’s open savannahs. This is where Kenya’s safari magic truly begins, with chances to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo and, if lucky, the elusive leopard.
Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and a relaxed night in the wild.

Day 3 Maasai Mara | Big Five Safari Experience

Spend the day exploring the legendary Maasai Mara, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives across golden savannahs, with excellent chances of seeing lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, cheetahs and more.

Day 4 Maasai Mara to Nairobi | Scenic Return

Day 5 Nairobi to Watamu | Beach Escape Begins

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to the coast. On arrival in Malindi or Mombasa, you will be met and transferred to your beach resort in Watamu.
Spend the rest of the day relaxing by the ocean, enjoying the warm coastal breeze, white sands and turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.

Day 6 Watamu | Ocean, Culture & Relaxation

Having done already many safaris im several countries in the past, we might be c (Read More)onsidered as more or less experienced safari tourists. Still, our experience with Bush Mosaic - Brenda, Alex and James - was above expectations. Might be because this was our first visit to Kenya… We did have a little over a week to see the beauty of Kenya. Brenda created a package for us to visit Masai Mara NP, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli NP with a private driver/guide (James!). Notably Masai Mara (because of all the animals!) and Amboseli (the back drop of the Kilimanjaro!) were amazing.

One minor point was that it involved a lot of driving (we did not do our map-hom (Read More)ework). Another was that we had not realised that in these parks it was not allowed to do walking safaris, as we were used in doing in parks in countries such as Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. For the rest: excellent work!

From the very beginning, Christine and Judith from Donwel Tours were highly atte (Read More)ntive to what we were looking to get from our first ever trip to Kenya, and Africa, for that matter. We wanted to cover a lot of ground, and were going from one agency to another before we found Donwel as most agents couldn't quite squeeze everything we wanted into our itinerary. Judith and Christine however made it all possible. Good quality stays everywhere, regular communication through the trip to ensure we were ok and were getting what we wanted. Special shoutout to Teeman, our driver who absolutely fantastic, drove safely and ensured our safety and comfort throughout the trip, regularly coordinating with Christine.
