Day 1 NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport to Phuentsholing - Pickup
  • Meet and greet upon arrival at Hasimara Station, IXB, or NJP.
  • Transfer to Phuentsholing, the gateway to Bhutan, by road from India.
  • Phuentsholing is a thriving commercial center located on the northern edge of the Indian plains.
  • Upon arrival, check in at the hotel.
  • Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
  • After breakfast, complete the immigration formalities.
  • Transfer to Thimphu (7,710 ft.), the capital city of Bhutan.
  • On the way, visit Gumpha Monastery and Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion).
  • Overnight stay in Thimphu.
  • After breakfast, drive to Punakha/Wangdue.
  • On the way, stop at Dochu-La Pass (3150 meters) to view the higher Himalayas.
  • Arrival at Punakha and check in at the hotel.
  • In the afternoon, visit Punakha Dzong, built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

The entire trip right from the Bagdogra airport to Bhutan and return to India was completely comfortable , enjoyable and safe. Mr. Bharat was absolutely kind and regular approachable. Wanchuk, is a very cautious and gentle driver and he drove us safely everywhere we went. His driving is so smooth and enjoyable. During his driving he also explain the importance of some sites . He was very punctual regarding timing. Bhutan is indeed a wonderful piece of heaven on earth. The nature, the scenic beauty, the valleys, the hills, the mountains, the spiral roads, the fresh air, the dreamy cool climate makes it a piece of heaven on earth.
