Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival at Bagdogra – Phuentsholing
- Upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport, you will be greeted by your guide or driver.
- You will be escorted to Phuentsholing, a bustling border town nestled at the foothills of the Himalayas (approximately 4-5 hours drive).
- After checking in at your hotel, complete the immigration formalities required for entry into Bhutan.
- In the evening, you can explore the peaceful Zangto Pelri Lhakhang, a charming temple representing the heavenly abode of Guru Rinpoche.
- Enjoy your first night in Bhutan with an overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
Day 2 Phuentsholing - Thimphu
- After breakfast, begin your scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan (approximately 5-6 hours).
- On the way, stop at Kharbandi Gompa, a beautiful monastery surrounded by lush gardens that offer panoramic views of the plains below.
- Upon reaching Thimphu, check in at your hotel and set out to explore a few of its highlights, including the towering Buddha Dordenma Statue and the National Memorial Chorten.
- In the evening, take a leisurely stroll through the town's lively streets and browse local handicrafts.
- Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 3 Day Excursion to Punakha
- After breakfast, drive to Punakha.
- Visit Dochula Pass: (3150 m) a beautiful mountain pass that features a concentration of 108 memorial stupas.
- Punakha Dzong: The second oldest dzong in Bhutan, it served as the capital and seat of government until the mid-1950s.
- Punakha Suspension Bridge: One of the longest and oldest suspension bridges in Bhutan.
- After the Punakha tour, return to Thimphu.
- Dinner and overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 4 Thimphu Sightseeing - Transfer to Paro
- After breakfast proceed for Thimphu local sightseeing.
- Visit Buddha Dordenma Statue: a huge statue of Buddha.
- Simply Bhutan Museum: Taste local wine ‘Aara’, play National game Archery, meet the foot carver- Pema Tshering watch the cultural show and drink Bhutanese ‘Butter Tea’.
- The National Memorial Chorten Stupas: Tibetan-style stupa, built in 1974.
- Royal Takin Preserve: Biggest protection of a rare mountain animal called Takin (Bhutan National Animal), surrounded by dense forest.
- Bhutan Postal Museum: Print your personalized stamps here.
- Arrival to Paro by evening. Check In to your hotel.
- Dinner and overnight stay in Paro.
Day 5 Paro – Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery
- Today is a highlight of the trip as you embark on a hike to the iconic Tiger's Nest Monastery, perched dramatically on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley.
- The 4-5 hour round-trip trek is a spiritual and scenic journey, offering breathtaking views along the way.
- After descending, you may visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most revered temples.
- Spend the evening unwinding at your hotel or sampling traditional Bhutanese cuisine at a local restaurant.
- Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 6 Paro - Phuentsholing
- Post breakfast, drive back to Phuentsholing, enjoying the scenic beauty of the mountains and valleys (approximately 5-6 hours).
- After checking in to your hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure.
- You can explore the town's local markets and prepare for your departure.
- Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
Day 7 Phuentsholing - Bagdogra ( Deaprture)
- After breakfast, begin your return journey to Bagdogra Airport (approximately 4-5 hours drive).
- With fond memories of Bhutan's rich culture, serene landscapes, and spiritual essence, board your flight for onward travel.

The highlight of the trip was the hike to Tiger’s Nest — challenging, but absolutely worth it. The views and the entire experience were simply magical.
