Day 1 Nairobi to Masai Mara – Journey Into the Wild
  • Your safari adventure kicks off with an early 6:30 AM pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport.
  • Enjoy a scenic drive down the Great Rift Valley escarpment.
  • Around 8:00 AM, stop briefly at a viewpoint to enjoy sweeping views and take photos.
  • Continue through the highlands and small towns to Masai Mara.
  • Arrive at your lodge or camp by around 1:00 PM, just in time for check-in and lunch.
  • After a short rest, set out for an afternoon game drive from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM in the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve.
  • This will be your first opportunity to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and many other species in their natural habitat.
  • After the drive, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay inside or near the reserve.
  • Fuel up with an early breakfast at 6:30 AM.
  • Begin a full-day safari adventure through Masai Mara at around 7:30 AM, carrying your packed picnic lunch.
  • The early hours are ideal for spotting predators as the savannah comes alive.
  • Explore the reserve's rolling grasslands and rich ecosystems while searching for lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, and more.
  • At midday, pause for a picnic lunch in the bush, surrounded by nature.
  • Depending on the season, you might catch a glimpse of the wildebeest migration or river crossings near the Mara River (typically from July to September).

  • Depart Masai Mara by around 8:30 AM and travel toward Nakuru, passing through the scenic countryside.
  • Enjoy lunch en route.
  • Stop at Lake Naivasha for a relaxing boat ride and a walk on Crescent Island, where you can get up close to giraffes, zebras, and other herbivores in a predator-free zone.
  • By 5:00 PM, arrive in Nakuru for check-in, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge or hotel.
  • Begin the day with an early morning game drive at around 6:30 AM in Lake Nakuru National Park, known for its vibrant birdlife, including flamingos, pelicans, and storks, as well as rhinos and the rare Rothschild giraffe.

  • Around 11:00 AM, check out and begin your journey to Amboseli National Park, stopping for lunch along the way.
  • Pass through Nairobi and continue south toward the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro.
  • Expect to arrive in Amboseli by late evening for check-in, dinner, and your overnight stay at a camp or lodge.
  • After breakfast, embark on a full-day game viewing safari with picnic lunchboxes.

All arrangements including hotel, game drives, food arrangements, personalised s (Read More)ervices by İmara Destinations was excellent We started our trip from New Delhi to Nairobi via Mumbai by Indigo flight. Dennis was there to welcome us at the airport early in the morning. We started off to Samburu, had lunch on the way had a relaxing evening at the resort. We had a wonderful game drive next day at the samburu national reserve, saw a leopard, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, etc from close quarters. We went to ol Pajeto conservancy, fed blind rhino, saw chimpanzees and other animals including two horned rhinos, proceeded to Nakuru saw pelicans, flamingos etc there, Masai Mara we stayed for three nights and had two game drives. Could see lots of lions, cheetah with its prey as well as a pregnant cheetah, zebras, giraffes etc. we also saw ostriches and other animals and birds there. We then went to Naivasha had a boat ride with walk and see crocodiles and hippos and crescent island visit walked with zebras, impalas and wildebeest but couldn’t see giraffe there. Due to floods last year many parts of crescent island got submerged so could only see part of the island. Our last destination was Amboseli park with game drive there. Overall it was a highly satisfying and interesting experience. İmara Destinations did a very good job of taking us to the exact spots where animals would be seen uninterrupted.
