Day 1 Arrival at Srinagar → Pahalgam (Approx. 90 km / 3 hrs) & Pahalgam Sightseeing

Route: Srinagar – Pampore – Avantipura – Anantnag – Pahalgam

Enroute Sightseeing & Description:

  • Pampore Saffron Fields: Famous for the world’s best saffron; enjoy a short stop for photos and local kahwa.
  • Avantipura Ruins: Ancient Vishnu temple ruins dating back to the 9th century.
  •  Apple Orchards & Lidder River View: Scenic drive with snow peaks and river views.   At Pahalgam
  •  Aru Valley (11 km): Serene meadow surrounded by pine forests.
  • Betaab Valley (7 km): Filming site of Bollywood movies, known for its crystal-clear stream. 
  • Chandanwari (16 km): Starting point of the Amarnath Yatra, picturesque drive along Lidder River. (Aru, Betaab & Chandanwari by local union vehicle on direct payment basis.)

 Evening: Stroll along the Lidder River or explore the local market.

  • Pari Mahal: Ancient Buddhist monastery with panoramic city views. 
  • Hazratbal Shrine: Sacred white marble mosque located on Dal Lake’s northern bank.

Evening: Leisure at Boulevard Road or Shikara ride (if missed earlier).

Morning: Visit any missed attractions or enjoy relaxed activities:

  • Jamia Masjid & Old City Walk: Explore heritage architecture. 
  • Tulip Garden (if open – seasonal, March–April): Asia’s largest tulip display.
  • Floating Market Visit (early morning): Experience the vibrant trade on Dal Lake.

A special thanks to our driver, Mr. Altaf, who was a very nice, courteous, and lovely person. His friendly nature, local knowledge, and helpful attitude made our travel experience comfortable and enjoyable. He played a significant role in creating wonderful memories for our family throughout the trip.
I would also like to share one point of feedback regarding the hotel provided in (Read More) Gulmarg. The hotel was not satisfactory and did not meet the expectations set for the package. I would request that better accommodation options be considered for future guests visiting Gulmarg.
