Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Nairobi - Masai Mara
You'll be picked up from your hotel, residence, or the airport and begin the journey to Maasai Mara. En route, stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for stunning views of the escarpment wall. After descending the escarpment, proceed to Narok town for an early lunch. Arrive at the Maasai Mara in the late afternoon, check-in, and head out for an evening game drive until sunset.
Dinner and overnight at the camp.
After breakfast, leave the camp with packed lunch for a full-day game drive across the vast Maasai Mara. Known for having the highest concentration of wildlife species in Kenya, you’ll likely spot hundreds of animals, including members of the Big Five. Visit the Mara River—if it’s migration season, witness the dramatic crossing; otherwise, enjoy sightings of crocodiles and hippos. After a picnic lunch, continue with the game drive. Return to the camp in the evening. Optional activities include a nature walk with Maasai warriors or a cultural visit to a Maasai village. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
After breakfast, check out and depart for Lake Nakuru with lunch en route. On arrival, enjoy an evening game drive in the park, known for its endangered rhinos (both black and white) and, depending on the season, flocks of flamingos. While flamingo numbers can vary, rhino sightings are almost guaranteed, along with other Big Five members. Dinner and overnight at a lodge in Nakuru.
After breakfast, enjoy a short game drive as you exit Lake Nakuru and head to Lake Naivasha. In the afternoon, visit Hell’s Gate National Park—Kenya’s only park where you can walk or cycle safely, as there are no predators. You can choose to explore the park by vehicle or rent a bicycle to ride the 11 km route to the gorge. A local guide will lead you through the gorge, sharing fascinating insights about its rock formations. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Naivasha.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, followed by an optional visit to Crescent Island or a relaxing boat ride on Lake Naivasha. Later, drive back to Nairobi with lunch en route. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to the airport for your onward journey. Tour ends.

Just went for 8 day safari with James and Wild Portraits Safaris...it was spot o (Read More)n perfect. Reasons 1.Clear communication and replies always comes very quickly on WhatsApp. 2. Very genuine with suggestions and doesn't do things as a job or formality. 3. James is very knowledgeable. 4. The enthusiasm and passion shown by James was just so infectious. 5. The planning of itinerary takes care of all the finer details. 6. They really take care of your focus and they don't try to sell anything you are not interested in. For example we skipped the village visit because we didn't see value in it. 7. Quite flexible and adjusts as things progress.
