After check-in and a short refreshment break, the day is dedicated to exploring the city’s rich heritage, architecture, and spiritual landmarks. The sightseeing begins with Sabarmati Ashram, the former residence of Mahatma Gandhi. Located on the serene banks of the Sabarmati River, the ashram offers deep insight into India’s freedom struggle and Gandhiji’s philosophy of simplicity, non-violence, and self-reliance. The preserved living quarters, photographs, and exhibits make this a meaningful and reflective visit. Later, explore Adalaj Stepwell, a beautifully designed five-story stepwell that blends Indo-Islamic architecture. Built to provide respite from the heat, its ornate carvings and symmetrical design make it one of Gujarat’s finest historical structures. The day also includes a drive past important city landmarks and time to explore local markets, where you can experience Ahmedabad’s vibrant culture, textiles, handicrafts, and local flavors. Overnight stay in Ahmedabad.
After breakfast, begin the scenic journey towards Dwarka, one of the four sacred Char Dham pilgrimage sites of India. En route, halt at Jamnagar, a city known for its royal heritage and natural beauty. In Jamnagar, visit the Lakhota Lake and Lakhota Museum, located on an island in the middle of the lake. The museum houses rare artifacts, sculptures, and historical relics from the region’s princely past. The peaceful surroundings and birdlife add charm to the visit. Also visit Bala Hanuman Temple, renowned worldwide for its continuous chanting of “Ram Dhun” since 1964, earning it a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. The spiritual energy and devotion experienced here leave a lasting impression. After sightseeing in Jamnagar, continue the drive to Dwarka. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and relax. In the evening, enjoy the serene coastal atmosphere and prepare for the sacred experiences ahead. Overnight stay in Dwarka.
This day is devoted to exploring the holy city of Dwarka, believed to be the ancient kingdom of Lord Krishna. Begin with Dwarkadhish Temple, one of the most revered temples in India. Dedicated to Lord Krishna, the five-story temple stands majestically with intricate carvings and a towering spire. The spiritual ambiance, rituals, and chants create a deeply devotional experience. Proceed to Gomti Ghat, where pilgrims take a holy dip in the Gomti River before entering the temple. The ghat is lined with small shrines and offers beautiful views of the temple against the river backdrop. Later, visit Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The massive statue of Lord Shiva and the calm surroundings make this an important spiritual stop. Continue to Rukmini Devi Temple, dedicated to Goddess Rukmini, the consort of Lord Krishna. The temple is admired for its sculptural beauty and is associated with fascinating mythological legends. The day also includes a visit to Bet Dwarka, an island believed to be the residence of Lord Krishna. Reached by a short boat ride, Bet Dwarka offers temples, coastal views, and a spiritually enriching environment. Overnight stay in Dwarka.
After breakfast, depart for Somnath, another sacred Jyotirlinga destination. En route, stop at Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. Visit Kirti Mandir, the ancestral home of Gandhiji, now converted into a memorial. The modest structure reflects Gandhiji’s simple lifestyle and displays photographs and exhibits related to his life and teachings. Also explore Sudama Temple, dedicated to Sudama, Lord Krishna’s childhood friend. The temple symbolizes humility, friendship, and devotion, and holds great significance in Hindu mythology. After sightseeing in Porbandar, continue the journey to Somnath. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and relax. In the evening, visit the revered Somnath Temple, the first of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Situated on the shores of the Arabian Sea, the temple stands as a symbol of resilience and faith. Later, witness the Sound and Light Show, which narrates the temple’s legendary history and repeated reconstruction over centuries. Overnight stay in Somnath.
The final day covers any remaining sightseeing in Somnath followed by the return journey to Ahmedabad. Visit Bhalka Tirth, the sacred site where Lord Krishna is believed to have left his earthly form. The peaceful temple complex and nearby confluence add spiritual depth to the visit. Proceed to Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the rivers Hiran, Kapila, and the mythical Saraswati. This holy site is associated with rituals and ancestral prayers. Also visit Geeta Mandir, where verses of the Bhagavad Gita are inscribed on marble walls, creating a spiritually enriching atmosphere. After completing the sightseeing, begin the return drive to Ahmedabad for drop at the airport or railway station, concluding the journey with divine blessings, cultural insights, and cherished memories of Gujarat.
