Day 1 Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve

Pick up from your hotel or the airport in Nairobi and depart for the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley with stops for photography along the way. Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch and some relaxation before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Explore the vast savannahs in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, cheetahs, and other wildlife that make the Mara one of Africa's premier safari destinations. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meals: Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, depart for an extensive morning-to-afternoon game drive through the reserve. Explore different sectors of the Mara while searching for the Big Five and a variety of plains game. Depending on the season, you may encounter large herds of wildebeest and zebras associated with the Great Migration. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the reserve before continuing your wildlife viewing experience. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, check out and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for its rhino conservation program and diverse birdlife. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive. Look out for both black and white rhinos, Rothschild's giraffes, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species around the lake. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Enjoy breakfast before departing for Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival, take a scenic boat ride across the lake, offering excellent opportunities to spot hippos and a variety of bird species. Continue with a guided walking safari on Crescent Island, where you can walk among zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, antelopes, and other herbivores in a unique, predator-free environment. Just went for 8 day safari with James and Wild Portraits Safaris...it was spot o (Read More)n perfect. Reasons 1.Clear communication and replies always comes very quickly on WhatsApp. 2. Very genuine with suggestions and doesn't do things as a job or formality. 3. James is very knowledgeable. 4. The enthusiasm and passion shown by James was just so infectious. 5. The planning of itinerary takes care of all the finer details. 6. They really take care of your focus and they don't try to sell anything you are not interested in. For example we skipped the village visit because we didn't see value in it. 7. Quite flexible and adjusts as things progress.

The entire trip was handled with extreme professionalism by both Janet and our g (Read More)uide Bonnie. We got to see the Big5 within 3 days of our itenary and more on the next days. Janet was very thorough with our itenary and helped us throughout and Bonnie knew all the best spots on all of our game drives. We didn't feel rushed throughout our tour, because it is designed very well to accomodate enough rest. 10/10 recommend
