Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Guwahati to Shillong | Visit Umiam Lake (114.9 km, 3 hours)

Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. You will be greeted by your travel guide and transferred to Shillong. En route, visit the beautiful Umiam Lake (Borapani), Meghalaya’s largest man-made reservoir. Upon arrival in Shillong, check into your hotel and spend the evening exploring the bustling Police Bazaar. Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 2 Shillong - Dawki Shillong (81 Kms, 3 hours)

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before departing for Laitlum Canyon, famous for its scenic hill slopes, often called the theater of Meghalaya. Continue your journey to Dawki, known for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River. Here, you can engage in activities such as boating, kayaking, or zip lining (on your own). Later, visit Mawlynnong, Asia’s cleanest village, and explore the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Overnight in Mawlynlong

Day 3 Shnongpdeng/Dawki - Cherrapunji (122 Kms, 4 hours)

Wake up to see the beauty of East Khasi hills. Travel back to Cherrapunji after witnessing this attractive place. On the way, visit the Garden of Caves, Arwa Caves, 7 Sister Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Dainthlen Falls, Wei-Sawdong Falls, Mawsawa Falls, Lyngksiar Falls, Mawsawdong Falls, WahKaba Falls. Overnight stay in Cherappunji.

Day 4 Shillong - Guwahati | End of Trip 160 Kms/3 Hours)

Check out of the hotel and prepare to transfer back to Guwahati as early as possible. Visit the Famous Kamakhya Temple. Alternatively, you can visit the Shillong Peak & Elephant Falls on the way to Guwahati. Proceed to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station. You will then take on your return journey and bring this experience to an end.

The Yoga retreat organized by this company was exceptionally divine. This 3 day retreat was an eye opening with professional volunteers & teachers. From pick up to drop we never had to worry about anything.

Drivers of Assam keep chewing tobacco which we noticed majority of them does it. The smell is irritating so request the owner to inform drivers regarding this. Regarding the driver behavior, vehicle tidiness we do not have any issues.

Whenever we had any q (Read More)uery, you were there anytime without any hesitation. Tapen Das (cab driver) - He was too good, his attitude shows his experience. The drive from dawki to mawlylong along the border fence in pitch dark will be memorable for ever. He was calm & composed and ensured no rash driving. Accomodation : As per our package category - we had better homestays with lovely views and calm surrounding. Before the trip, I heard from friends that food will be not comfortable but we had a decent meal in all the stays. Though it was a short trip, thanks for making it more memorable. I will definitely recommend Airgennie to my friends.
