Day 1 Arrival and Pick up at JKIA, MIA, Hotel
  • Day 1: Nairobi – Tsavo East National Park
  • Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from Nairobi at around 6:00 AM.
  • You will drive along the Nairobi–Mombasa highway, passing local towns, rural landscapes, and expansive plains.
  • You will arrive at Tsavo East through Bachuma Gate around mid-morning.
  • The adventure begins immediately with your first game drive en route to your lodge or camp.
  • What to Expect:
    • Tsavo East is known for its wide open plains and iconic red soil, which gives the elephants their famous “red-dust” appearance.
    • Wildlife sightings may include:
      • Large herds of elephants
      • Lions (including the famous Tsavo lions)
      • Giraffes, zebras, and buffalo
      • Various antelope species and birdlife
  • You will check in at your lodge, enjoy lunch, and relax before heading out for an afternoon game drive.
  • Accommodation will be at Sentrim Tsavo Camp, Voi Wildlife Lodge, or Voi Safari Lodge, or another similar lodge of equivalent standard subject to availability.
  • Key Attraction:
    • Aruba Dam – a hotspot for wildlife, especially during the dry season.
  • Return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and overnight.
  • Wake up early for a sunrise game drive, when wildlife is most active and the lighting is perfect for photography.
  • After breakfast, depart Tsavo East with a game drive en route to Tsavo West, enjoying wildlife sightings along the way.
  • Arrive in Tsavo West National Park in time for lunch and check in at your lodge.
  • Afternoon Exploration:
    • Visit the famous Mzima Springs:
      • This natural oasis is fed by underground streams from Mount Kilimanjaro.
      • You’ll have the chance to walk along designated paths and observe:
        • Hippos swimming in crystal-clear water
        • Crocodiles basking nearby
        • Fish and birdlife
    • Continue with a game drive across Tsavo West’s dramatic terrain, which includes volcanic hills, lava flows, and acacia woodlands.
  • Optional Highlights:
    • Rhino Sanctuary (for a chance to spot the endangered black rhino)
    • Shetani Lava Flows (unique volcanic formations)
  • Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Accommodation will be at Ngulia Safari Lodge or another similar lodge of equivalent standard, subject to availability.
  • Start your day with an early morning game drive, providing one last opportunity to spot elusive wildlife such as leopards, hyenas, and elephants.
  • After breakfast, check out and begin your journey back to Nairobi.
  • Arrive in the afternoon with drop-off at your hotel, residence, or airport.

Package Policies

  • Rates:
    • Rates include all expenses related to the vehicle and driver as per the itinerary, meals on safari, and entrance fees to National Parks and Game Reserves.
  • Transportation:
    • Cars, minibuses, Land Rovers, coaches, or trucks will be provided according to the route and the number of clients.
    • The right is reserved to employ the services of subcontractors.
    • English-speaking drivers and tour guides are provided.
  • Accommodation:
    • Accommodation is based on two persons sharing a twin room/tent.
    • Where possible, rooms with private baths are provided.
    • Single rooms are available at an additional cost but cannot be guaranteed.
    • Hotels/lodges are named as an indication of category and may be reserved at similar hotels/lodges.
  • Liability:
    • The company and its agents act as agents of the passengers in all matters relating to hotel/lodge accommodation, tours, transport, etc., and shall be liable for injury, delay, loss, or damage in any matter.
    • The company’s liability to passengers carried in its own vehicle is governed by the laws of the country in which the tour takes place and no other country.
    • All claims are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the country in which the action arises.
    • The company reserves the right to employ subcontractors for all or part of the services.
  • Food and Water:
    • Meals include English breakfast, buffet or picnic lunches, and table dinners.
    • A range of imported wines and spirits are available, along with a selection of local beers and sodas.
    • Although tap water is reasonably safe, we recommend drinking bottled water whenever possible.
  • Climbing Equipment: Gear for mountain climbing is not included in the tour price but can be rented from Mountain Safaris.
  • Tipping: Tipping is not compulsory in Kenya; however, if you are satisfied with the services, any gesture of appreciation will be enthusiastically received.
  • On Safari:
    • The best times for viewing animals are during the cool hours of the early morning and late afternoon.
    • Our usual routine will be to rise early before leaving the camp for a game ride or drive.
  • Photography:
    • Visitors should respect the local people's attitude towards photography and only use their cameras if they have permission from the "models" to do so.
    • Never attempt to "steal" a photo against the will of the person concerned.
    • Let your guide help you negotiate the terms before you start taking photos.
  • Cancellation:
    • Cancellation must be made in writing (email is acceptable).
    • The deposit is refundable, and a cancellation will incur the following charges:
      • More than 56 days before the start date – deposit only.
      • 29 to 56 days before the start date – 50% of the total cost.
      • 28 days to 75 days before the start date – 75% of the total cost.
      • 75 days or less – total cost of the tour.
  • Reservations:
    • A minimum payment of 30% is required upon confirmation, with the full balance payable before departure.
    • Client bookings are accepted with the understanding that clients acknowledge the possible risks inherent in travel, particularly in adventurous activities such as trekking, climbing, walking safaris, game driving, and diving.
    • Bookings can only be accepted for persons under eighteen years of age when accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them.
  • Rates:
    • Rates include all expenses related to the vehicle and driver as per the itinerary, meals on safari, and entrance fees to National Parks and Game Reserves.
