Day 1 Transfer to Negombo

  • Transfer to the beach town of Negombo.
  • Check into the Negombo Hotel.
  • Refresh yourself; later in the evening, proceed to explore Negombo city. You will visit:

  • Return to the hotel.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the Negombo Hotel.

  • Transfer to Anuradhapura via Chilaw. On the way, visit Muneshwaram Temple, one of the important Pancha Ishwara Hindu temples in Sri Lanka, located in Chilaw (Puttalam District).
  • Next, visit Manavari Temple, a significant Hindu temple located 6 km north of Chilaw, revered as the first site where Lord Rama installed a Lingam to invoke blessings.
  • Upon arrival in the ancient city of Anuradhapura, a revered pilgrimage center with a history dating back over 23 centuries, you will visit several key sites, including:

    • Shankari Devi Shakti Peeth Temple: This revered Hindu temple is one of the 18 Ashtadasha Shakti Peethas dedicated to Goddess Shakti. It is situated atop a hill next to the Koneswaram Temple and is believed to be the location where the groin (or anklet) of Goddess Sati fell.
    • Thirukoneshwaram Temple: Also known as Koneswaram Temple, this classical-medieval temple complex is considered a significant Hindu pilgrimage center in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. It is famous for its Thousand Pillars.
    • Fort Frederick: This historical site dates back to the Portuguese era.
    • Lovers Leap: A scenic viewpoint offering a beautiful panorama of the surroundings.
    • Trincomalee City Area: Explore the vibrant city and its attractions.
  • Later, visit the Kinniya Hot Water Spring Wells. The Kanniya Hot Springs consist of seven wells arranged in a square. These wells are shallow, with depths ranging from 0.91 to 1.22 meters, allowing you to see the bottom clearly. The water temperatures are considerably high and vary from one spring to another.
  • After your explorations, check into the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Trincomalee.

  • In the evening, proceed to explore Minneriya National Park. This park, located in Sri Lanka's North Central Province, is famous for "The Gathering," an event where hundreds of wild Asian elephants congregate around the 3rd-century Minneriya Reservoir, especially from July to September.

  • Next, visit Victoria Park, Gregory Lake, and the Sita Amman Temple. The Seetha Amman Temple, also known as Ashok Vatika or Seethai Amman Thirukkovil, is a Vaishnavite Hindu temple located in the Nuwara Eliya District of Central Sri Lanka.   • Early Morning Itinerary: At 5:30 AM, prepare for the whale and dolphin watching safari. Whale and dolphin watching in Mirissa is one of the most exciting activities you can experience during your holiday in Sri Lanka. Blue whales, the largest animals in the world, are often spotted here, making Mirissa the best location for these tours.
  • The whale watching season in Mirissa runs from November to April, although sightings can occur from May to October; however, the ocean conditions may be rougher during those months.   • After exploring the fort, you will embark on the Madu River Boat Safari. Here, you will discover the allure of the Madu River as you glide through mangrove forests, spot exotic wildlife, explore hidden islands, learn about cinnamon production, visit fish farms, and check out ancient temples while embracing the local culture on this unforgettable boat safari.
  • Finally, you will visit the Ahungalle Sea Turtle Farm before returning to the hotel.
