Day 1 Nairobi

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in Nairobi. Rest and freshen up after your journey. Enjoy a welcome dinner at your hotel. Overnight: Stay at a hotel in Nairobi.

Depart from Nairobi early in the morning. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Kenyan countryside, heading north towards Samburu National Reserve. Arrive at Samburu National Reserve and check into your lodge or camp. After settling in and having lunch, you’ll head out for your first game drive. Samburu is renowned for its unique wildlife, including the 'Samburu Five'. In the evening return to your lodge or camp for dinner.

Early morning game drive to spot predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Explore the reserve and enjoy a visit to the Ewaso Nyiro River. Optional: Visit a Samburu village to experience their unique culture and traditions. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner.

Depart Samburu and drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Arrive at Ol Pejeta and embark on a game drive. Visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner.

After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy a game drive, spotting flamingos, pelicans, and rhinos at the alkaline lake. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Depart for Maasai Mara, traveling through the scenic landscapes of the Rift Valley. Arrive in Maasai Mara and enjoy a game drive en-route to your lodge. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Early morning game drive to observe predators on the hunt. Explore the expansive plains of Maasai Mara and enjoy exceptional wildlife sightings. Optional: Hot air balloon safari or a visit to a traditional Maasai village. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Depart for Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch. Enjoy a boat ride on the lake to see hippos and a variety of bird species. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Having done already many safaris im several countries in the past, we might be c (Read More)onsidered as more or less experienced safari tourists. Still, our experience with Bush Mosaic - Brenda, Alex and James - was above expectations. Might be because this was our first visit to Kenya… We did have a little over a week to see the beauty of Kenya. Brenda created a package for us to visit Masai Mara NP, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli NP with a private driver/guide (James!). Notably Masai Mara (because of all the animals!) and Amboseli (the back drop of the Kilimanjaro!) were amazing.
One minor point was that it involved a lot of driving (we did not do our map-hom (Read More)ework). Another was that we had not realised that in these parks it was not allowed to do walking safaris, as we were used in doing in parks in countries such as Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. For the rest: excellent work!

From the very beginning, Christine and Judith from Donwel Tours were highly atte (Read More)ntive to what we were looking to get from our first ever trip to Kenya, and Africa, for that matter. We wanted to cover a lot of ground, and were going from one agency to another before we found Donwel as most agents couldn't quite squeeze everything we wanted into our itinerary. Judith and Christine however made it all possible. Good quality stays everywhere, regular communication through the trip to ensure we were ok and were getting what we wanted. Special shoutout to Teeman, our driver who absolutely fantastic, drove safely and ensured our safety and comfort throughout the trip, regularly coordinating with Christine.
