Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi

Your adventure begins in Nairobi, Kenya’s vibrant capital. Upon arrival, you'll transfer to your hotel for rest and a briefing. Depending on your arrival time, you may visit the Giraffe Centre or the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage for an up-close wildlife experience.

After breakfast, you'll depart Nairobi for Lake Nakuru National Park, a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley. You'll arrive in time for lunch at your lodge before heading out on an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is famous for its flocks of flamingos, diverse birdlife, and resident wildlife, including rhinos, buffalo, and Rothschild’s giraffes. The park’s unique landscape of acacia woodlands and open plains offers excellent wildlife viewing. You'll return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you’ll depart for the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, traveling through the scenic Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge before heading out on an afternoon game drive. The Mara is teeming with wildlife, including the “Big Five,” cheetahs, giraffes, wildebeests, and numerous other species. Bird enthusiasts can also spot some of the 500+ bird species recorded here. Enjoy the breathtaking savannah landscapes dotted with acacia trees before returning to your lodge at sunset for dinner and your overnight stay.

You'll spend the day exploring the vast Masai Mara, known for its abundant wildlife, including big cats, elephants, and countless herbivores roaming the rolling savannah. You'll enjoy a full-day game drive, with a picnic lunch under a classic acacia tree, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. You'll continue your adventure, spotting wildlife en route back to camp in the late afternoon. For an unforgettable experience, you may opt for a sunrise balloon safari, floating above the plains and ending with a bush breakfast before rejoining your guide for the day’s game drive.

You'll depart for the Isebania border, where you'll complete immigration formalities before meeting your Tanzanian guide. You will continue to the iconic Serengeti National Park, enjoying lunch en route. The journey takes approximately 8–9 hours on rugged roads, offering an authentic African adventure. For a faster option, a scenic 4-hour flight can be arranged from the Masai Mara to the Serengeti.

This day is set for you to explore Serengeti National Park. After an early breakfast, you will drive to another part of Serengeti National Park to explore the vast reaches of this park where the big cats: lions, leopards, and cheetahs, abound. After the short rains, the Serengeti’s magical golden horizon transforms into an endless green carpet, flecked with wildflowers. The famous plains are interspersed with wooded hills, towering termite mounds, monumental rock kopjes, and rivers lined with elegant acacia trees.

The vast Serengeti is one of the most stunning wildlife sanctuaries on the planet. The name comes from the Maasai “Siringet,” referring to endless plains. This vast savannah hosts the world’s largest surviving concentration of plains game. In addition to the short grass plains, there are beautiful rocky outcroppings called kopjes (pronounced copies) and thousands of acres of bush and acacia woodland.

You'll enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti before heading to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You'll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a wildlife paradise home to the Big Five, black rhinos, hippos, and large prides of lions. You'll explore the diverse landscapes, from open grasslands to acacia forests, and enjoy a picnic lunch by a hippo pool. A World Heritage Site, the crater hosts almost every species found in the region except the giraffe (they can’t negotiate the steep incline down). There are cheetah, hippo, plains species, and a myriad of birds. Here is one of the few remaining places it’s possible to encounter the highly endangered black rhino. It is also possible to see elephants (mostly lone or “bachelor” bulls, contented prides of lions, a resident herd of wildebeest, and zebras.

The day will be spent visiting Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is famous for its elephants and, in the dry season, is home to huge herds of buffalo and significant numbers of zebra and wildebeest. There are long vistas and a baobab-studded landscape, which makes for a very different environment from the other parks. Red dust, palms, and baobabs set the scene for glorious sunrise and sunset photos. During the dry season, the Tarangire River is the only source of water for miles around, attracting herds of elephants, wildebeest, and zebras. This park is a good place to see the elusive leopard, and there are over 550 species of birds that breed here, the most in any habitat in the world.

A nature trail around the lake is a sanctuary for over 130 different bird species, including kingfishers, osprey, buzzards, eagles, doves, storks, and babblers. The forested area around Lake Duluti is also home to many reptiles, such as snakes and lizards. Fishing and bird watching are popular in the Duluti area. Guided nature walks or canoeing can be arranged. Wonderful views of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro can often be seen.
Glide across the smooth surface of this small Crater Lake and view birdlife seldom seen; giant kingfisher, fish eagle, darters, and many more. Surrounded by the forested crater walls, this is a very special and quite canoeing experience. View hundreds of cattle egrets returning to an island in the lake to roost for the night.

After breakfast, you'll depart from Arusha and embark on a scenic drive toward the Namanga border, the official crossing point between Tanzania and Kenya. Along the way, you'll enjoy the stunning landscapes of northern Tanzania, passing through rolling hills, acacia-dotted plains, and small Maasai villages.
Upon arrival at the Namanga border post, you'll go through immigration and customs procedures before entering Kenya.
Once across the border, you'll continue the journey through Kenya’s beautiful countryside, with views of Mount Kilimanjaro (on a clear day) and the vast open landscapes of Amboseli National Park. As you drive toward Nairobi, keep an eye out for wildlife grazing near the roadside, as this region is rich in biodiversity.

You'll arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon or evening, marking the end of your unforgettable Tanzanian adventure and the beginning of new experiences in Kenya.

This is the last day of your unforgettable African safari. You will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta Airport and catch your flight to your homeland.
