Changu Narayan Temple, Nagarkot Overview
Perched atop a high hill called Changu, the ancient Hindu temple of Changu Narayan is surrounded by champak tree forest and a small village. It was built 3,000 years ago by King Mandev. Alongside a collection of life-size statues and sculptures, Changu Narayan is renowned for its exquisite wood, stone and metal crafts. Legend says Lord Vishnu beheaded a Brahmin mistakenly and descended on this hill in repentance.
