Court Garden, Munich Overview

The Court Garden is a great historic park near the old town in the center of Munich between the Residenz and Englischer Garten. It's a popular spot to escape from the hustle-bustle of Munich city life. In the center of the Court Garden stands a beautiful Pavilion dedicated to Roman goddess Diana.

It was Constructed in Italian Renaissance style in the 17th Century by Duke Maximilian I, Elector of Bavaria, in 1613-1617. After being destroyed in world war II, the Court Garden has been reconstructed many times. The Garden resembles its previous form as the redesign follows the original designs by referencing antique plans and paintings. The garden has eight full paths, each leading to Diana's Pavilion. Arcades, castles, portals, war memorials, etc surround the Pavilion.
