Situated north of Luxor Temple on the Nile Corniche, the Mummification Museum explains the entire process of mummification, through its artifacts and illustrations. It offers insight into the meticulous process used by ancient Egyptians to preserve human and animal bodies. it exhibits mummies of both humans and animals.
Tourists flock to the Mummification Museum to explore its well-curated exhibits, which feature mummified remains, including a 21st-dynasty high priest of Amun named Maserharti, and various animals. Visitors can marvel at the tools and materials used in the mummification process, such as spoons and spatulas for brain removal, displayed in vitrines. Additionally, the museum showcases artifacts crucial to the journey to the afterlife, alongside intricately painted coffins. Anubis, depicted in a beautiful statue, stands as a guardian over the museum's entrance, adding to the immersive experience.
