Other than that, they have both an indoor and an outdoor dining area. Besides, you can take it on you to explore the area on your own. For that, you can go trekking to a nearby hill and discover the age old Bhairon Dev Mandir perched at the top of the cliff. The trek is no doubt, a liberating experience. 2. Camping in Lansdowne with Adventures Galore

This exhilarating camp stay is considered one of the best in the area. Tucked away neatly in the vicinity of river Kho, the offbeat location is an added advantage to the already mesmerising locale. The alpine tents are furnished with premium quality beds and mattresses; the rooms have carpeted floors and enticing views of the surrounding ageless natural beauty, from the windows. Camp Chayan is located in the heart of the forest with 360 degree of the adjoining forest and a glimpse of the high cliffs. Located at a distance of 26 kms from Lansdowne, the campsite is the perfect getaway to treat the city blues and recover and rejuvenate in the incapacitating timeless beauty of nature. The camp has a total of nine Safari tents with attached washrooms and basic sanitation facilities. They provide all time running cold water and hot water on demand, in addition to soap, shampoo and basic toiletries. Every room has two beds with an extra mattress to accommodate a third person.

The tents are nestled between tall pine trees and adventure activities are organised in the premises; you need to book in advance for the same. The activities include rock-climbing, rappelling, Burma bridge, Flying Fox, Commando Net, Zig-Zag Bars etc. Since the camp is located at a distance and amidst foresty area, you get an added benefit to play music at any time of the day (Loud music is not allowed in Lansdowne as it is a Cantonment Area). Dining is one of the most popular activities at the camp since the food is served out in the open with sweeping views of the enchanting hills and forests at a distance. The camp has both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine that you can choose from.

Best Time To Visit Camping in Lansdowne

March to June and September to November are considered the best times to camp in Lansdowne. The weather is pleasant which makes for an exhilarating experience. The rainy season is not considered ideal; the treks get a little risky as the rocks gets slippery due to the rains and also the water activities like rafting are not possible. December to February is not advisable since it might get too cold up there.
