Periyar National Park, Kumily Overview
Spread across an area of 300 square miles, Periyar National Park is covered by lush evergreen and deciduous forests offering a natural habitat to various animals such as deer, elephants, sambar, Nilgiri Langurs, etc.
However, it draws its fame for being the country's only Tiger Reserve. Elephant and Jeep safaris are famous in the park. The Mangala Devi Temple which opens only during the Chitra Pournima Festival is another major attraction in the park.
