Stargate Observatory, Kausani Overview

High up in the majestic Himalayas of Kausani, Uttarakhand lies the magical Stargate observatory, a gateway to the mystical galaxy. It is a dedicated place for observation of celestial objects like moons, planets, star clusters, constellations, nebulas, distant galaxies, and other deep sky objects. At an altitude of about 1800 meters above sea level, one can get spectacular views of the Himalayas from here as well, enjoying the Himalayan Peak Watch activity organised at the observatory. With state-of-the-art equipment and experienced astronomers, this observatory is the perfect place for one to witness the wonders of outer space while enjoying the natural glory of the mountains.

Apart from celestial observations, one can also engage in stargazing here, and learn the nuances of astrophotography, with regular workshops for the same being held at the observatory. Those interested in our mysterious universe can visit the Science and Astronomy-themed Museum present here. This fascinating site is the perfect location for astrophiles, with regular astronomy workshops and Astro tours, and the relaxing Stargate Cafe, a space-themed restaurant within the premises. There is also a space-themed shop to pic up souvenirs of the ideal galactic experience received here.
