Alexandra Park, Hastings Overview
The Auckland Trotting Club, established over 100 years ago is the heart of Alexandra Park and is a premier harness racing venue in New Zealand. The Park is also home to other trotting clubs like Manukau, Thames, Franklin Trotting Club and Kumeu. Since around 1950, visitors have enjoyed Friday Night Trots and have enjoyed harness racing at its best. It is also a great spot for meetings, events and conference venues.
The Alex Bar and eatery, adjacent to the Auckland Trotting Club betting outlet and has a vast menu. The eatery features outdoor courtyard, gaming room, lounge areas and private rental space. The café side is a good vantage point for races and can accommodate large crowds. Alexandra Park hosts many races including the Rowe Cup, Auckland Trotting Cup and you can also visit the Trotting Hall of Fame and Museum. You can bet as much or as little as you like and the staff provides guidance for beginners.
