Burg Square, Bruges Overview

The Burg Square is a former fortress of Bruges. Being one of the primary squares in the city, the Square brings to you medieval buildings that date back to the 2nd century. The most prominent building of the city is the Townhall or the Stadhuis, where the city was governed, for over 600 years. The Square leads you to gorgeous Gothic-style statues, biblical figures, and authentic facades. Right next to Stadhuis, is the Old Civil Registry which was once the courthouse. Tucked in another corner of the square is The Basilica of the Holy Blood, a Roman Catholic church in Bruges. With the Grand Place, iconic museums, galleries, and eateries, the Burg Square is a wholesome place to be in.
