Day 1: Arrive at Auckland

  • On arrival in Auckland after clearing immigration and customs regulations you will be transferred by private vehicle to the hotel (seat in coach passengers).
  • The remainder of the day is at your leisure.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and you will travel north over Auckland's Harbour Bridge and along the Hibiscus Coast.
  • There is the opportunity to view the mighty Kauri Trees enroute.
  • The journey continues, travelling through Whangarei, Northland's only major city and port, before arriving at the beautiful Bay of Islands.
  • Enjoy a guided tour of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds to learn about New Zealand's historic treaty signed between the British Crown and the Maori Chieftains.
  • Following this, take a 'Hole in the Rock and Cape Brett'cruise.
  • If you wish, you may disembark from this cruise in Romantic Russell and take some time to explore this historic town, returning to Paihia by ferry at your leisure (ferry ticket included).
  • Overnight stay at Bay of Island hotel.

  • The day is at your leisure to enjoy the Bay of Islands and Northland.
  • You might like to book an optional Cape Reinga & 90 Mile Beach day tour. You will be overawed by the grandeur of the mighty Kauri trees, the expanse of Ninety Mile Beach and the mystique of Cape Reinga.
  • Your first stop will be for the easy twenty-minute boardwalk through the Puketi Kauri Forest.
  • Thunder along Ninety Mile Beach to the top of New Zealand and wander out to the lighthouse.
  • Ride our sand sledges if you dare!
  • Take a swim and dig for shellfish.
  • See the picturesque village of Mangonui. It is a day full of activity and yours to enjoy.
  • Overnight stay at Bay of Island hotel.

  • Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel.
  • After breakfast in the morning spend your time at leisure to further explore this beautiful region on your own.
  • Later this afternoon you will be transferred back to Auckland by seat in a coach vehicle.
  • In Auckland check in to your hotel.
  • Overnight stay at the Auckland hotel.

  • After breakfast, depart Auckland in the morning and head south to arrive at Waitomo for a guided tour of the world-famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves
  • This includes an underground boat ride viewing the millions of glowworms on the cavern roof.
  • On completion continue to Rotorua.
  • Check in to the hotel at Rotorua.
  • Overnight at the Rotorua hotel.

  • After breakfast, visit Te Puia Thermal Reserve to see boiling mud pools and roaring geysers.
  • Following this, visit Rainbow Springs to see New Zealand's trout, birds and wildlife before continuing to the Agrodome for a New Zealand farm show featuring sheep dog demonstrations, cow milking and an introduction to the stars of our sheep industry.
  • The afternoon is at your leisure.
