Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

  • On arrival at Nairobi International airport, meet the representative and transfer to the hotel.
  • The city has its share of well-planned buildings and architecture. It is the Garden city of Nairobi.
  • The rest of the day is free for leisure.
  • Overnight in Nairobi.

  • After breakfast, you will be driven to Lake Nakuru in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge followed by an afternoon game drive.
  • Lake Nakuru is a soda lake, home to the greater and lesser flamingos. At times, you may see a lion crawling on the water's edge, or if you are a bird lover you will spot different bird species
  • Overnight at Nakuru.

  • After breakfast, you will depart from Nakuru for the Masai Mara National Reserve.
  • Enjoy a game drive en route to the lodge.
  • Lunch will be served on arrival, followed by an afternoon game drive through the reserve to the endless reaches of acacia-dotted grasslands studded with hazy hills where lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and numerous plain animals are in abundance.
  • Return for dinner at the Masai Mara Sopa Lodge and relax in comfort.

  • Enjoy morning game viewing with a long drive to the Mara river, where you can view hippos and crocodiles.
  • After lunch at the lodge, go on an afternoon game drive, followed by a visit to a Masai manyatta or homestead to see the Masai culture.
  • In the evening, enjoy a nature walk safari with a resident naturalist to experience the awakening of Africa in Masai land at sunset.

  • After breakfast, transfer to Serengeti National Park and check into Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge for the night. Each room has a private balcony, spacious bedroom, and natural stone bathroom.
  • In the afternoon head for some bird watching.

  • Serengeti National Park, in the Serengeti area of Tanzania is the country's oldest national park. Measuring 14,763 sq km, it is renowned for the annual migration of over one and a half million white-bearded wildebeests, three hundred thousand Thomson's gazelles and over two hundred thousand zebras. The park is well known for its healthy population of the 'Big Five'. Due to the biodiversity and ecological significance of the area, the park has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
  • Go on morning and afternoon safaris into the park with experienced guides, and return to your lodge for the night.

Arusha (1N), Zanzibar (2N)

  • Go on a game drive into a different area of Serengeti National Park and then visit Olduvai Gorge - the cradle of mankind.
  • Transfer to Ngorongoro for the night.
  • Set out for a morning game drive to explore a new area of Serengeti National Park.
  • Then drive to Olduvai Gorge - the cradle of mankind. Olduvai Gorge is a steep-sided ravine in the Great Rift Valley that is 48 km long and stretches through eastern Africa. The site is known for British archaeologists Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains.
  • After spending time at Olduvai Gorge, continue driving to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and check in to Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge.

  • Go on a day tour to Ngorongoro Crater today to explore its varied landscape. Ngorongoro Conservation Area, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated 180 km west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania.
  • Although commonly referred to as a crater, it is actually a caldera - a cauldron-like volcanic feature usually formed by the collapse of land following a volcanic eruption. The Ngorongoro Caldera is the largest unbroken, un-flooded caldera in the world. Ngorongoro offers some unique sights as you see herds of wild animals grazing on the crater floor.
  • Today you will descend 2000 feet (over 600m) to the crater's floor for a day tour with a picnic lunch.
  • Explore forest areas here that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, visit the lake area where you may see flamingos, and delight in the views of the open savannah where lions hunt for food.

  • After breakfast, leave for Lake Manyara National Park.
  • We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge, and after lunch, we head into the Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon game drive.
  • This national park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment.
  • The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Lake Manyara’s unique tree-climbing lions, and large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake.
  • Dinner and overnight at the lodge or hotel.

Arusha (1N), Zanzibar (2N)

  • After breakfast, proceed to Arusha.
  • At the gateway of Tanzania’s northern circuit, nestled at the foot of Mount Meru, this Serena hotel sits in beautiful gardens on the shores of tranquil Lake Duluti. It makes for a lovely relaxed first night ahead of your safari.
  • Built on the site of a colonial coffee farm, it’s designed to echo its traditional origins with rooms in thatched cottages grouped around the flower-filled ‘village square’.
  • Overnight in Arusha.

  • In the morning take a boat ride for Zanzibar. Experience the beautiful blue water around you.
  • Upon arrival, check in to the hotel.
  • In the afternoon, go for snorkelling and relish the rich marine life in the crystal clear waters.

  • Overnight at Zanzibar
