Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 NJP / IXB/Siliguri to Gangtok

On arrival at NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport, you will be met by our driver who will assist you to board your vehicle to Gangtok. On arrival check into the hotel and enjoy the day at leisure.

GANGTOK: At an altitude of 1750 m, Gangtok became the state capital in the Mid-19th century and has undergone rapid development since then, the downtown area is dominated by huge government buildings decorated with traditional Buddhist symbols. Gangtok is also a testing ground for people traveling to North Sikkim. Surrounded by Monasteries and Orchids, Gangtok is truly a traveller's delight.

Breakfast at the hotel and full day excursion to Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake) which is 35 Kms from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The lake derives its waters from melting snow off the surrounding mountains. Legends say that lamas could forecast the future by studying the colour of the lake’s waters.

Breakfast at the hotel later proceed Darjeeling. Darjeeling is a town in India's West Bengal state, in the Himalayan foothills. Once a summer resort for the British Raj elite, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, or “Toy Train,” completed in 1881. It's famed for the distinctive black tea grown on plantations that dot its surrounding slopes. Its backdrop is Mt. Kanchenjunga, among the world’s highest peaks.

Early morning visit Tiger Hill to see a beautiful sunrise and Himalayan Range like Kanchandzonga, Mount Everest etc. One can see the horizon changing colours just before sunrise and then the entire Himalayan range turns golden. It is truly a majestic sight and Ghoom Monastery which is the oldest Monastery in the area which was built in 1875 and one can see the image of Mythey Buddha 15ft. height on the way back from Kanchendzonga View Point. Then visit Batasia Loop and transfer to the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel and proceed for a city tour visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday) which was started by Tenzing Norgay after he climbed Mt. verest, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tibetan Refugee Centre (closed on Sunday), Tenzing Rock / Gombu Rock, Tea Estate (from outside), Japanese Peace Pagoda. Note: Tiger hill pass / coupons subject to availability & it’s free of cost – It will be restricted to not more than 600 cab / day – Based on coupons given by Sadar traffic office only a day in advance.

Note: Toy Train (Joy Ride) Depends on time availaibility. Its Extra Cost 1000 / 1500 Per Person ( Available on IRCTC website).

  • After breakfast at 8:30 AM, proceed to Bagdogra Airport (IXB), NJP Railway Station, or Siliguri via Mirik Lake (110 km, approx. 6-hour drive).
  • En route, visit Gopaldhara Tea Estate and Pasupati Nagar (Nepal Border).
  • Additional charges apply for vehicle access to Pasupati Market in Nepal.

  • Children above 10 years will be charged as per the adult rate.
  • Children between 5 and 10 years sharing a parent’s room will be charged as per the hotel’s child policy.
  • Children below 5 years are complimentary, and age proof must be provided when requested.
  • In case of a pandemic or lockdown, packages can be rescheduled with extra charges depending on hotel and transport rates.
  • If canceled due to a pandemic, a 10% deduction from the total package amount applies.
  • Hotel check-in and check-out times will follow the policies of the respective hotels.
  • Extra persons or children with an extra bed will receive a mattress or rollover bed instead of a proper bed.
  • Most hotels in hilly areas do not have elevators, and guests may need to climb stairs to reach their rooms.
  • Guests with difficulty climbing stairs should inform in advance for better hotel allocation.
  • Deluxe and standard hotels provide room heaters on request and at an additional cost.
  • Luxury vehicles like Innova or Xylo accommodate six persons, including children.
  • Non-AC Sumo or Max accommodates four to eight persons, including children.
  • WagonR, Alto, or Santro accommodates one to three persons, including children.
  • Tata Sumo and Bolero vehicles can only reach designated stands in Gangtok, and a separate taxi is required to reach the hotel at an extra cost.
  • Passengers are responsible for their own luggage, and care must be taken during the tour.
  • In case of flight or train cancellations, the travel agency will not be responsible, and the standard cancellation policy will apply.
  • Sikkim and Darjeeling are hilly areas, and it is advisable to carry warm clothes even during summer and heavy woolens in winter.
  • Any extra expenses incurred due to natural calamities or political disturbances must be borne by the passengers directly at the time of occurrence.

  • Cancellations made within 7 days of departure will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
  • Every effort will be made to minimize cancellation charges.

The Journey Highlights: Gangtok (2 Nights): * Arrival & First Impressions: Our transfer from NJP Railway Station to Gangtok was smooth, with a comfortable vehicle and a courteous driver. The winding roads offered the first glimpse of the majestic mountains. * City Charm: Gangtok is a vibrant capital. We loved exploring the MG Marg, a bustling pedestrian street, in the evenings. It's clean, lively, and offers great shopping and dining options. * Natural Wonders: The trip to Tsomgo Lake and Nathula Pass was a highlight. Pelling (1 Night): * The Scenic Drive: The drive from Gangtok to Pelling was incredibly picturesque, winding through lush greenery and small villages. * Kanchenjunga's Grandeur: Pelling truly lives up to its reputation for stunning Kanchenjunga views. Darjeeling (3 Nights): * Queen of the Hills: The drive to Darjeeling was equally scenic. The town has a unique colonial charm. * Sunrise at Tiger Hill: Waking up at 3 AM for the Tiger Hill sunrise was absolutely worth it! Witnessing the sun's first rays illuminate the Kanchenjunga range in golden hues was an unforgettable, almost spiritual experience. The Batasia Loop and Ghoom Monastery visits afterwards were also very nice. * Tea & Tranquility: We enjoyed a visit to a tea garden and sampled some famous Darjeeling tea, which was delightful. * Darjeeling Mall Road: The Mall Road was bustling and a great place for an evening stroll, picking up souvenirs, and enjoying the local vibe. *Pine Forests and Trails: The majestic pine forests surrounding Lamahatta are a defining feature. Many reviews mention the refreshing, earthy aroma of the pines and the chance to take peaceful walks or short treks through them. *Mirik Lake is a delightful destination for those seeking peace, natural beauty, and a gentle pace of life.
