Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Shimla
- Arrive at Shimla.
- Check in the hotel.
- After some rest, visit local sightseeing like Viceregal Lodge, Christ Church etc.
- The evening time is free to stroll down the famous “The Mall”.
- Overnight stay at Shimla hotel.
Day 2 Shimla to Sangla (100 kms)
- After breakfast, start for Sangla.
- On the way, stop for sightseeing of Karcham, Sangla valley, Baspa valley river, hydro electric project.
- Arrive at magnificent Sangla valley in the evening.
This is one of the most beautiful valleys in the Himalayas and is often compared to the famous valley of Kashmir. Known for its rich Kinnauri culture and apple orchards, this valley was opened for tourists only in 1993 for its close proximity to the Tibetan border. - Overnight stay in Sangla.
Day 3 Sangla to Chitkul and Transfer to Kalpa
- Start your day with a trek to Chitkul.
Go through a gradual climb along the Baspa River to reach High altitude pastures of Chitkul at 10,000 – 12000 ft. Surrounded by mountains, the site is a paradise to the eyes and its peace and tranquillity adds to its beauty. - In the afternoon drive to Kalpa.
Enjoy the day in the beautiful surroundings of the river valley of Baspa at a height of 9000ft. Kalpa is one of the biggest and most beautiful villages of Kinnaur districts. Known for its ancient temples, the Sutlej River below Kalpa hurles through deep gorges and the winding mountain road is bordered by chilgoza forests. - Overnight stay in Kalpa hotel.
Day 4 Kalpa Local Sightseeing
- Start for Roghi village in the morning.
It is about 6-7 Kms from Kalpa and is known for its traditional lifestyle of Himachal surrounded by apple orchards. It is considered to be one of the most ideal places to have a short hike or a leisure walk. Known for its old-world charm, they villagers have a great knowledge of the place and you can learn about Kinnaur Valley and this region from them. - Overnight stay at hotel in Kalpa.
Day 5 Transfer to Sarahan from Kalpa
- In the morning, start towards Sarahan.
- Reach Sarahan in the evening.
- Visit Bhimakali Temple and enjoy a view of Srikhand Mahadev.
- Overnight stay in Sarahan hotel.
Day 6 Transfer to Shimla from Sarahan
- After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and start for Shimla.
- On the way, stop for sightseeing of Kufri.
Kufri is famous for its Himalayan National Park, Yak Ride and one can see the endless Himalayan Panorama from Kufri. - Overnight stay in Shimla hotel.
Day 7 Drop at Chandigarh
- Visit local attractions in Shimla like Christ Church, Shimla.
Built in 1857, the church is known for its neo – Gothic style. - Also visit Gaiety Theatre, Scandal Point and The Mall.
- Start for Chandigarh.
- Drop at Chandigarh in the evening for onwards journey .
