Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by representatives from Oma Tour & Travel. After receiving assistance with immigration and permit formalities, you will begin your scenic drive to Thimphu. Along the way, enjoy the picturesque landscapes of Issuna and the charming countryside. Upon reaching Thimphu, check into your hotel and take some leisure time to explore the town and get acquainted with the local ambiance.
Overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, begin your sightseeing tour of Thimphu. Start with a visit to the grand Buddha Dordenma, perched atop Kuenselphodrang Nature Park. This massive statue houses 125,000 miniature Buddhas inside and offers a panoramic view of Thimphu Valley. Continue to Devi Panchayan Mandir, a Hindu shrine where you can offer prayers and witness a beautiful blend of Bhutanese and Hindu architecture.
Next, visit the Takin Preserve Centre, home to Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin, along with other rare species like Sambar and Serow. Stop at the National Memorial Chorten, built in memory of the third Druk Gyalpo and dedicated to world peace, a revered site for daily worship by locals. After lunch, explore the Folk Heritage Museum, offering insights into traditional Bhutanese life and culture, and visit Simply Bhutan, an interactive living museum. Conclude the day at the Authentic Bhutanese Crafts Market, perfect for picking up souvenirs and appreciating local artisanship.
Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Post breakfast, embark on your journey from Thimphu to Punakha, a picturesque drive that passes through the famous Dochula Pass, known for its 108 memorial chortens and panoramic Himalayan views. On reaching Punakha, explore the riverside beauty and local attractions as you unwind in this tranquil valley.
Overnight stay in Punakha.
After breakfast, proceed to the serene Phobjikha Valley, often referred to as the “Mini Switzerland of Bhutan” for its green pastures and alpine scenery. Visit the Gangtey Monastery, located atop a hill offering majestic views of the valley. Explore the Black-Necked Crane Centre, which serves as a hub for information on the conservation of these endangered migratory birds. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful walk around the valley and interact with locals. This experience is sure to offer some unforgettable photo moments.
Overnight stay in Phobjikha.
Today after breakfast, head to Paro, passing again through the scenic Dochula Pass. Upon arrival, stop at the Airport View Point for a breathtaking view of Paro Valley and the dramatic runway surrounded by mountains. Visit the National Museum of Bhutan, housed in an ancient watchtower, showcasing a vast collection of artifacts, costumes, and weaponry. Later, explore the Rinpung Dzong, known as the “Fortress on a Heap of Jewels,” a brilliant example of Bhutanese architecture. Take a relaxing evening stroll around Paro town and explore local cafés and markets.
Overnight stay in Paro.
After breakfast, begin your hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, also known as the “Tiger’s Nest.” Clinging to a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley, this is Bhutan’s most spiritual and iconic site. The trail offers stunning views and serene forest paths. Enjoy lunch at the Taktsang Cafeteria en route if desired. In the evening, you may choose to experience a traditional hot stone bath (self-paid), a rejuvenating Bhutanese healing therapy.

What's Good: I'm delighted to share my exceptional experience with Welgreen Kerala Holidays, expertly managed by Mr. George. Our customized tour package exceeded our expectations, blending comf (Read More)ort and memorable experiences. Hotel selections were impressive: Hotel Sea View at Kanyakumari offered breathtaking sunrise views and delicious food. Hotel Germanus in Madurai, Hotel Soma Palmshore in Kovalam, and Hotel Taika in Rameshwaram provided pleasant stays with good food and courteous staff. The houseboat experience was outstanding, with mouth-watering local cuisine, including an unforgettable fish fry. However, hot water for bathing was not available. Some valuable tips for future travelers: verify temple timings and dress code regulations in advance to optimize your itinerary. Ladies can find lovely, affordable sarees and dress materials. Engaging local drivers or guides can also enhance your experience. Mr. George and Welgreen Kerala Holidays deserve 100% marks for crafting an unforgettable trip with thoughtful hotel choices and a well-planned itinerary. What's Not Good: The houseboat experience was outstanding, with mouth-watering local cuisine, including an unforgettable fish fry. However, hot water for bathing was not available and no more activities at the shore. Rather we would have preferred to stay in a hotel and take long ride of houseboat in the afternoon to late evening would have better.

Resort and hotel suggestions to suit my budget and strategically selected closer to places of interest was truly 5 star service from the agent. My solo trip was made safe and comfortable. Great sugge (Read More)stions were made to choose places to visit to make the trip fun, enjoyable and memorable. This awesome trip in a very long time was fun and refreshing. The paradise in Kerala will transcend your soul to haven. People are welcoming and friendly. I recommend Varkala tranquil beeches and Kovalam backwaters for the ultimate fun experience. Gods Own Country’s Kitchen is recommended for some great food and live music on the Varkala cliff point. If south temple architecture peeks your interest, then there are a few gems from ancient times hidden here to explore maintaining sanctity and faith in true form. Solo travellers pay couples rate which can be heavy on the purse. South India need to warm up to the idea that solo traveller numbers are increasing, male and female alike and in all age groups. Not only the cost of travel but people’s outlook need to change. Most of the temples here are only for believers in faith. Kanyakumari was crowded during the Diwali break. The seashore here is only to soak in the view. Thiruvananthapuram Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple darshan was divine however fleeting it maybe, but the mandapa which adorns the beautiful sculptures is out of bounds for devotees. The Garbhagudi could be well lit, so the devotees can properly catch a glimpse of the lord and be blessed. Since architecture is out of bounds recommend special entry for swift darshan.
