Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival – Phuentsholing to Thimphu
Our representative will receive you at Phuentsholing. After processing the permits, begin your scenic and pleasant drive towards Thimphu post lunch. En route, visit Kharbandi Gompa—a picturesque photography spot overlooking the Indian plains and majestic mountains. The hilly drive continues until you reach Thimphu, a charming capital city that serves as Bhutan's hub for commerce, religion, and governance. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. Spend the evening at leisure—relax or explore the town at your own pace. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, explore the best of Thimphu’s attractions:
  • Buddha Dordenma: Located atop Kuenselphodrang Nature Park, this is one of the world’s largest statues of Lord Buddha, offering panoramic views of the valley.
  • Devi Panchayan Mandir: Located just below Buddha Dordenma, you can stop here to seek blessings.
  • National Memorial Chorten: Built in memory of the Third Druk Gyalpo, it is a place of daily worship and a symbol of world peace.
  • Takin Preserve: Home to Bhutan’s national animal, the takin, along with rare species like the muntjac deer, sambar, and serow, this preserve is set in the tranquil woods of Motithang.
  • Royal Textile Museum: Discover Bhutan’s rich textile heritage through a stunning display of traditional garments and cultural artifacts.
  • Authentic Bhutanese Crafts Market: Ideal for purchasing local handicrafts while supporting Bhutanese artisans.
  • Clock Tower Square: The buzzing heart of Thimphu, filled with cafes, restaurants, and local life.
  • Kaja Throm: In the evening, visit this newly developed recreational market featuring dinosaur models, eateries, souvenir stalls, and often cultural performances by local artists.
Overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, proceed to Paro. This valley is one of the most expansive in Bhutan and is adorned with lush rice fields and a winding crystal-clear river. On the way, visit:
  • Tamchog Lhakhang: Dedicated to the famous bridge builder Thangthong Gyalpo, this temple is accessible via a traditional iron chain bridge, offering a thrilling experience.
  • National Museum: Housed in an ancient watchtower, this museum showcases Bhutanese history, weaponry, religious artifacts, traditional costumes, and more.
  • Rinpung Dzong: Known as “Fortress on a Heap of Jewels,” it stands as a splendid example of Bhutanese architecture.
  • Bird Eye View Point (Airport View Point): Offers a stunning panoramic view of Paro Valley and is a great spot to capture photos or watch planes land and take off.
Later, you can explore Paro town at leisure. Overnight stay in Paro.
After breakfast, embark on the iconic hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang Lhakhang)—Bhutan’s most famous and sacred landmark. Perched dramatically on a cliffside, 900 meters above the valley, the monastery offers breathtaking views and spiritual significance. It is said Guru Padmasambhava flew here on a tigress and meditated, making it one of the holiest sites in Bhutan.
Later, you can visit the Kaja Throm in Paro, inaugurated on 13th October 2022 during the Royal Wedding. Enjoy local eateries, souvenir shops, and community spaces. Overnight stay in Paro.
Post breakfast, begin your journey back from Paro to Alipurduar or Hasimara. Tour ends with beautiful memories of the Land of the Thunder Dragon.
