Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Shimla to Sangla
Depart from Shimla and embark on a picturesque drive toward Sangla. This journey takes you through the beautiful valleys of Himachal Pradesh, where each turn offers stunning vistas of snow-capped peaks, pine forests, and winding mountain roads. Along the way, you’ll pass through quaint towns and villages, immersing yourself in the beauty of Himachal’s untouched landscapes.

By late afternoon, you’ll reach your hotel in Sangla. After checking in and taking a brief rest, you’ll be given a rundown of the itinerary and safety measures, preparing you for the thrilling journey ahead. Spend the rest of the evening relaxing and acclimatizing to the altitude, and if it’s New Year's Eve, celebrate with a cozy gathering at the hotel, surrounded by the majestic Himalayas.

Overnight stay in Sangla.
Start your morning with a hearty breakfast, then set out for Tabo in Spiti Valley. Today’s journey will be filled with thrilling mountain roads and jaw-dropping sights as you pass through the Sumdo Border to enter Spiti Valley. On the way, you’ll visit Nako Lake, a serene high-altitude lake surrounded by charming Tibetan-style villages. Please take a moment to admire the pristine lake, often partly frozen in winter, reflecting the majestic peaks around it.

As you continue the drive, you’ll encounter the famous Ka Loops—a series of hairpin bends that climb dramatically up the mountainside, giving you a spectacular view of the valley below. This exhilarating section is a highlight for travelers, with each turn offering a new, breathtaking perspective of the Himalayas.

Arrive in Tabo by evening and check into a traditional homestay. Here, you’ll experience the warmth of Spiti hospitality and enjoy a homely meal as you wind down for the night.
Overnight stay in Tabo.
After breakfast, set out to explore Tabo Monastery, one of the region's oldest and most significant monasteries, often called the “Ajanta of the Himalayas.” Dating back over 1000 years, Tabo Monastery is a living piece of history with ancient murals and sculptures depicting Buddhism's rich spiritual heritage.

Following your time in Tabo, continue to Dhankar village, home to the Dhankar Monastery. Perched on a cliff with a panoramic view of the confluence of the Spiti and Pin rivers, this monastery offers one of the most captivating views in the region. Walk through the ancient monastery and experience the spiritual ambiance of this Himalayan gem, where monks still reside and follow centuries-old rituals.

On the way to Kaza, stop by the frozen Lingti waterfall. This striking cascade of ice forms as the Lingti River freezes in winter. This natural spectacle is a hidden treasure of Spiti Valley. Arrive in Kaza by evening and check into your cozy homestay, where you’ll be treated to a warm meal and a chance to rest.
Overnight stay in Kaza.
Start your day with a fulfilling breakfast and head out to Key Monastery, the largest and most scenic monastery in Spiti Valley. Situated at an altitude of 13,668 feet, this centuries-old monastery is a spiritual hub and offers an unmatched panoramic view of the surrounding landscapes. Look at traditional Tibetan architecture and hear stories about the rich history and teachings preserved here.

Next, drive to Chicham Bridge, which is recognized as the highest suspension bridge in Asia. Spanning a deep gorge, the bridge offers a thrilling viewpoint and an excellent photo opportunity. From here, you’ll have a sweeping view of the dramatic Spiti terrain, making it a popular stop for adventure seekers.

Continue to Kibber village, one of the highest inhabited villages in the world and a prime location for spotting snow leopards in winter. Kibber is a stunning sight, surrounded by rugged mountains and a landscape blanketed in snow. Walk through the village to see traditional houses built in Tibetan style and learn about the resilient lifestyle of the villagers. By evening, return to Kaza for a warm dinner and a restful night.
Overnight stay in Kaza.
End your adventure as you return to Shimla with unforgettable memories and stories of your Spiti journey.

Amazing Nepal & Bhutan Trip

Nelson's Trip to Paro, Kathmandu, Thimphu

5 /5

(Written on 28 Apr, 2025)

What's Good: I loved my short time in Bhutan. The hotels were Very nice and clean. Since I wanted to save money, I asked for only 3-star hotels, the hotel I was placed in were all very very (Read More) clean and included a breakfast buffet and dinner. We also stayed at a home stay out in the countryside with a beautiful valley-view and a wonderful host. The homestay allows one to have a more authentic experience staying and interacting with local Bhutanese people. We loved experiencing the delicious Bhutanese food and culture and will not hesitate to come again in the future. I was just not aware how much was included in our tour. We had guides taking us personally everywhere we went. And even dinner was included in our package! You can confidently utilize this company. They strive to go above and beyond your expectations.
What's Not Good: I could have been fine without including the dinner in our package and seeking out my own dinners outside. Had I mention Ed that to Asia Valley, I am sure they would have accommodated my request.

Sundeep's Trip to Paro, Punakha, Thimphu, Eastern Bhutan, Bhutan

(Written on 21 Apr, 2025)

What's Good: ## Bhutan Experience Our journey through Bhutan was largely impressive, with knowledgeable guides who showcased the country's rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes with g (Read More)enuine enthusiasm. The drivers navigated the winding mountain roads with skill and professionalism, ensuring our comfort throughout most of the journey. However, our second night at Paro Rema Resort fell short of expectations in terms of dining. The food quality was disappointing compared to other meals we enjoyed in Bhutan, lacking both flavor and presentation that would be expected at a resort of this caliber. ## Sikkim Portion The transition between destinations proved problematic. Our transfer from Bhutan to Gangtok felt unnecessarily rushed, with a driver who seemed more concerned with completing the journey quickly than ensuring passenger comfort or allowing us to appreciate the scenic route. Upon arrival in Gangtok, we were pleased with our hotel's prime location on MG Road, offering convenient access to local attractions, shopping, and dining options. Unfortunately, the hotel's service standards did not match its excellent location. Staff responsiveness was inconsistent, and several basic amenities were either missing or required multiple requests. Overall, while the Bhutan portion of our tour delivered a memorable experience, the Sikkim segment would benefit from significant improvements to transportation and accommodation service quality.
